The reason for the outline is to help you with your final paper. I understand that it will be a draft and will not have everything in it that you will put into your paper. By this point, the historical foundation that supports current research and practice in applied behavior analysis has been laid. This week, you will explore the specific definition, characteristics, and domains of applied behavior analysis and how they support professional practice.

This assignment is designed to engage and integrate your imagination and creativity. Do note this assignment is worth 50 points. Your task is to design a nutrition educational experience based on the following: Work under the premise that a healthy budget and access to resources are unlimited. Give your nutritional educational experience an original name. What is the name? What is your reason for choosing this original name? Choose any geographic location and setting that you believe will be beneficial to your educational program. How will you attract your clients/patients to this educational experience (advertising, incentivizing etc.)? What are the segments/components of your educational experience? Will you have workshops, guest lectures, cooking demonstrations, one-on-one consultations? Be specific about the flow and content of your educational experience. Also, how will you infuse creativity into the program to make it a memorable and inspiring experience. Outline the nutritional protocol that you will recommend to your clients/patients. How will you use the best of nutritional research and your knowledge of your population/audience (their greatest assets and challenges) to design your nutritional protocol? Your nutrition protocol should be outlined, it does not need to be ultra-detailed. However, you should include one example meal for your clients/patients. N.B. This nutritional educational experience should be relevant for your vocation. Tailor this assignment so that it is relevant to your professional field and context (Psychology, Public Health, Speech Pathology, Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation Science, Marital and Family Therapy, Chaplaincy etc.). For example, if you are a Speech Pathologist then part of your nutritional educational experience may address the relationship between nutrition and communication disorders. Or if you are a Psychologist, then you may address the connection between nutrition and mental health. Remember that your imagination, innovation and creativity are key for this assignment. Your word document should not be shorter than one and a half pages (1.5 pages, double spaced). Ensure that your response to each section/bullet point is clearly delineated in the document for easy reading. Use Times new roman font, font size 12. Page margins should be 1 inch all around. Critical evaluation of the paper: THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT! As a scientist, you want to approach the article with total skepticism. Very few articles are perfect. Consider the representativeness of the participants, the adequacy of the research measures, and the logic of the entire paper. Do the conclusions answer the research question? Be as critical as you can.
An APA Title Page, APA Headings, and an APA reference are required. Don’t forget, you can go back to the APA Videos and Tutorials in the APA 7th edition module and watch how to format a title page and how to use Headers. I only use Header 1 and Header 2 because there is not much depth in an article summary. Turnitin is also turned on for this assignment. It detects the use of AI resources also! The summaries should be in your own words. Do not use quotes. Remember, this is a summary; you should not be providing a lot of detail but rather synthesizing what the authors did. Just tell me what you read, what you learned, and how the study could be improved or what you would add or do differently. A special note: Reading journal articles is hard. They are designed for an audience that knows something about the topic or methods. As new psychology students, you don’t have that knowledge (that is why you are in school!). So be sure to allow plenty of time to read and understand the paper. Only when you understand the paper will you be able to summarize the paper. Don’t get discouraged; every psychologist started precisely where you are now. The only way to get better at reading empirical journal articles is to practice. I have included a sample paper as a Resource in the Module. It has errors,, but the tone and thoroughness are where I expect a student paper to be.
