This report will guide you in writing your final part of this assignment. Although there is a lot of wonderful information included in this report, you do not have to read all of it: Please read pages 4-13 (“Report Summary”) & 29-68 (“Principles & Context”).
Reference (and properly cite in APA format!) this report when writing your explanatory text in part 4 of this assignment. This is required.
Write: One Page Explanation
Part 4: Explanatory TextAfter research and creative portions have been completed, students will draft an explanation and description of the purpose for the creative portion, outlining why they feel their message in the first advertisement will effectively persuade teens to make healthy choices, and why they believe their second advertisement will guide adults to support their teen with the issues they face. This part of the assignment should be in the form of an APA 7th-edition-formatted scholarly writing and should reference relevant course material, including the Simpson “Raising Teens” report. The “Raising Teens” report must be incorporated into the explanatory text.
(Access the report here: https://hr.mit.edu/static/worklife/raising-teens/pdfs/raising_teens_report.pdfLinks to an external site.)
The accompanying evidence-based Explanatory Text should not exceed 1 double-spaced page.
All sources must be properly cited using APA format and a full references list must be included at the bottom of the text. It is OKAY if the references list ONLY falls onto a second page.

Welcome to Week 12.  This week we will be reflecting on ability / disability / ableism.  When thinking about ability / disability and health – don’t forget to reflect on MENTAL HEALTH – not just physical disabilities that we can ‘see.’  Please pay close attention to our Discussoin Board Part I and Part II – as it is a bit different than our usual discussion of readings. NOTE: Reminder that when working on assignments – you want to inlcude as many specfic examples and details from the content as possible.  The more details (paraphrased) you incoporate in your writing the more it demonstrates that you have immersed in the assigned material and have thoughtful things to say about it.

Read Book “Why Didn’t You Tell Me? “by Carmen Rita Wong
Wong, Carmen Rita. Why Didn’t You Tell Me?: A Memoir (p. 219). Crown. Kindle Edition.
In the first body paragraph you should describe and summarize of the books’ contents.  Rather than summarize each chapter at length, try to give the reader an overall sense of the book.  Here you might also include how it compares to other books on the same topic.
In the second paragraph, first, write down the thesis statement.
second, write a paragraph on the author’s project.  What did the publishers set out to do? Did they accomplish it? How and why?
OR
Write a paragraph describing and analyzing one of the main themes of the book.  Which stories and quotes illustrate this theme?

Overview
Select two distinct advertisements that promote or feature a brand of clothing. For instance, you could select an ad for Ann Taylor and one for Ralph Lauren. Closely analyze the details in the different ads. Be sure to focus on the physical traits, body language, and physical appearance of the “characters” or models in the ads. Consider that these features are promoted based on the particular audience each ad is trying to reach.
Instructions
In a two to three page paper, write an ad analysis that addresses the social concepts depicted in the ads. Review the sections from the module about class, gender/LGBTQ+, and social mobility. For each advertisement, address and expand on the following questions:
What social class do you think is being depicted?
What gender aspirations or identities, including LGBTQ+, do you think are being appealed to?
To what extent is a social and/or economic status being depicted?
What does ownership of this clothing brand presumably signify about the potential customers?
Conclude your analysis with a paragraph that summarizes the reviews of the ads and how they demonstrate the social concepts. Attach a screenshot or picture of each advertisement to your submission.
Follow APA format and cite references, and include a reference list.
Consider the following outline for how to write your ad analysis:
Introduction: of the two advertisements—Advertisement A and Advertisement B.
Advertisement A: Address the physical traits, body language, and physical appearance of the “characters” or models in the ad. Answer the following questions that address the concepts of class, gender/LGBTQ+, and social mobility:
What social class do you think is being depicted?
What gender aspirations or identities, including LGBTQ+, do you think are being appealed to?
To what extent is a social and/or economic status being depicted?
What does ownership of the clothing brand presumably signify about the potential customers?
Advertisement B: Address the physical traits, body language, and physical appearance of the characters or models in the ad. Answer the following questions class, gender/LGBTQ+, and social mobility:
What social class do you think is being depicted?
What gender aspirations or identities, including LGBTQ+, do you think are being appealed to?
To what extent is the viewer being asked to identify with a given social and/or economic status?
What does ownership of the clothing brand presumably signify about the potential customers?
Conclusion: Summarize your review of the ads and include how they demonstrate the social concepts

you will want to revise the title “fail stigmatization” this does not make sense

you will want to revise the title “fail stigmatization” this does not make sense “causes more concerns” — vague various demographics — like what? look this up and include some data. use a reputable medical source. there is no thesis statement Goffman — the citations are incomplete. I do not know what source you are using, but you should be using the assigned chapter, which is dated 1963, not 1986. references need formating to not mention your stigma in the summary of stigma you used Goffman’s exact words without using quotations. this will earn that section a zero. the summary of stigma theory should be only 1 paragraph. this is an okay start, but it needs revision and editing. cases — too long, should only be one paragraph. this should be about half this length, about half a page. use man not male analysis — the first statement needs a citation. you should consult a medical source for symptoms. there are valid reasons to stigmatize someone. it is not about misconceptions. you can discuss that at the end if you wish. the analysis does not analyze the cases. instead, it seems to be based on secondary sources. the analysis has no points about stigma, most likely because it is based on secondary sources and is not actually an analysis. instead, make points about how depression is stigmatized. the first two sections need serious revision, the analysis will need to be rewritten to earn a passing grade.

The Thomas Theorem states that if individuals define situations as real, they are real in their consequences. What this means is that people’s behavior can be determined by their subjective construction of reality rather than by objective reality. There are many ways to illustrate this concept. In the recorded lecture for this chapter, l argued that when a person yells fire in a theater it will cause panic whether a fire exists or not. The panic in this case is caused by a subjective construction of reality (somebody yelling fire) rather than an objective reality (an actual fire). Similarly, if somebody were to consistently watch news reports featuring violent crimes, they may go out and purchase an alarm system, iron bars for their windows, a large pit bull, and a weapon to protect themselves because they think that they may be a victim of violent crime. Violent crime may actually be decreasing in their city or neighborhood, but to them it doesn’t matter because their behavior has been shaped by a subjective construction of reality (news reports that focus on violent crimes) rather than objective reality (decreasing violent crime rates). What are some other social situations where people act a certain way based on a subjective construction of reality rather than objective reality?
