Overview

Similar to an actor’s monologueLinks to an external site., characters in William Shakespeare’s plays often shared what was on their mind to others, and sometimes even to themselves, which is a theatrical convention that we, as audiences, just accept as theatre-goers even though it may not directly imitate life.
