You may go slightly over the page limit, if necessary.
Imagine that you’re writing a report to someone who doesn’t know what you’ve researched, how you researched, and what you found out and learned. That is, use this assignment to report on your research process from beginning to end, as well as provide your reader with an analysis of your findings and conclusions.
This does not mean you’re copy-pasting from previous work; rather, you’re providing your reader with a report that offers some context, an overview, synthesis, and an analysis of your research.
Therefore, you need to be clear and specific. Provide concrete examples that demonstrate and analyze the research you have completed. “Show more than tell” your reader what you have done.
Your tone needs to be professional. Stay either 1st or 3rd person throughout –be consistent.
Carefully proofread your Report. Avoid grammatical errors.
Report Format
The Report needs to have the following four sections.

Section One: Introduction and explanation of the topic (~1-2 paragraphs):
Explain the purpose of your work: Summarize the work you have done and clearly state what were you aiming to find out. This section summarizes the findings in your report so readers know what to expect.
Introduce and contextualize your research. Explain your rhetorical situation (the context and purpose of your research). Summarize the findings in your report.
State the importance of your project and its relevance for you.
Explain what your report will do (metadiscourse): “In this report, I will . . .”
Section Two: Provide a context and walk your reader through your Research Process (roughly 3-4 paragraphs)
What were the steps you followed?
What were some of your key research questions?
Briefly walk your reader through your research. What resources did you use? What was the process like? For instance, If you had any problems doing the research, how did you solve them? How did you make decisions about what sources to use? How did you choose which internships, jobs, or grad programs to focus on or drop?
Section Three: Discuss and analyze your final choice (roughly 4-6 paragraphs): 30 points
provide an analysis where you tell your reader about your final choice:
Based on your research, what made your final choice of company, internship, or graduate program the most attractive?
It’s important here that you walk us through this research process. A good tactic is to compare and contrast your final choice to the companies, internships, and/or graduate programs you researched. for this report Tell us the story of how your research helped you make your final choice.
Section Four: Conclusion: Finally, finish with an evaluation to end your report. Come to a definitive interpretation or judgment about your final choice in the following two ways:
Having completed your research, is this a job, internship, or graduate program that you are still interested in? If so, what are the next steps you need to complete in order to submit your application? For example, do you need to ask for Letters of Recommendation or write a Resumé? If not, explain why.
What would you describe as your biggest takeaways from doing this research? What have you learned that you can use in future research into jobs, internships, and/or graduate programs?
