RESPOND TO 2 Questions (each in 1.000 words (+/-10%) ).
1. Apply either a constructivist or an English School approach to analyze the emergence and impact of the Westphalian system.
2. Explain the course of the First World War with one of the liberal theories.
3. Assess the causes and outcomes of the Second World War through hegemonic stability theory.
4. Examine the different perspectives of neo-realism and liberal institutionalism in their theorisation of the future of the neoliberal order.
Key elements/criteria for EVALUATION:
– discussion of the CONCEPTS and THEORIES, with reference to debate in the readings.
– empirical EXAMPLES.
– WELL-STRUCTURED TEXT:
* An introduction: Brief overview of the topic, and descriiptions of how the essay will unfold.
* Main body of the paper: based on a structured discussion of the phenomena and related concepts. Please discuss briefly the main tenets of the theory/approach discussed and then historical events with a focus on how they can be described/explained by the theory/approach
*A short conclusion summing up the paper (Hint: this is a good moment to make your argument/point of view more explicit).
