Research requirement:
You must have at least 7 outside sources, at least 2 must be from scholarly peer-reviewed journals. 5 must be credible sources (the book counts as a credible source).***Essays that do not meet the research requirement in full will receive no points, and you will fail this course.
Logical requirements: In order to write a multi-body paragraph essay, the best way to organize your body paragraphs is by using cause (neutral, just establishing that the behavior exists), effect (correlating cause-narcissistic effect), then solution logic (solving the problem identified in the cause, effect paragraphs).
This organization is suggested only for option #1. For option #2, you might choose a different organization.
The example below would be for an essay where the root cause is parenting. These might be the first three body paragraphs.
TEEAS Body paragraph (Cause #1): One behavior that parents participate in is buying their children whatever their heart desires.
TEEAS Body paragraph (Effect #1): This parenting behavior results in the development of entitlement in children.
TEEAS Body paragraph (Solution #1): A solution to the problem of entitled children would be for parents to only buy children things when their children have done some work to earn them.

Three possible different organizations:
(9 body paragraphs) Cause, Effect, Solution, Cause, Effect, Solution, Cause, Effect, solution (your three solutions would solve three problems)
(8 body paragraphs) Cause, Effect, Cause, Effect, Cause, Effect, Solution, Solution (your two solutions would have to solve three different problems)
(7 body paragraphs) Cause, Effect, Cause, Effect, Cause, Effect, Solution (your one solution would have to solve three different problems)

Essay Development:
An introduction with an engaging hook and any necessary context
The introduction should include a unified thesis statement that clearly states your one central argument. For this essay, the unifying idea is expressed by simply answering the essay question.
7-9 well-developed body paragraphs (within the TEEAS framework) with clear topic sentences, all of which make the love connection to your thesis.
Textual evidence—strategically determine the best presentation for your evidence! (correct use of MLA citation!)
Lots of analysis within your body paragraphs that clarifies the significance of your evidence to your points.
A conclusion that answers the “so what?” by making an argument for why your identified root cause is more powerful than other root causes.
Transitions: You must use logical transitions to connect ideas between and within paragraphs.
Evidence of careful proofreading (no more than four errors per page!)
Careful MLA documentation—internally and in the works cited page. If you struggled with MLA in essay 2, it is critical that you do some independent work to review as it is worth more in this 3rd essay.
Grammar—you must use coordination and subordination and do so correctly.
