Website Content Requirements
Create engaging, chunked content for ease of readability and user experience.
You should have a minimum of 5 sections/steps/items for your webpage.
There should be a minimum of 1 image per section to help break up the content.
Your text content should be original and written by yourself. Images can be used from any of these free image resources or your own personal images.
Website Technical Requirements
You can design the pages however you would like to but be sure it meets the following minimum standards:
Proper HTML structure, HTML tags, and use semantic HTML sections where appropriate.
CSS formatting for all text content. Define an internal/embedded style sheet for the head section of your page (or an external one if you wish). Do NOT use inline/embedded CSS. Review style methods on page 245 of your textbook if you are unclear what inline styles are.
CSS formatting for margins and centering content for your webpage.
Images must be actual files that you upload to your website as opposed to linking to images on other websites.
Include appropriate title and meta tags for SEO purposes. At a minimum, include a meta tag with attribute name=”description” in your head section (along with the title tag and meta tag for charset).
Format your HTML and CSS code so that it is easy to read. Use indentations and blank lines where appropriate. Use the “Multi-line Format” method as defined HERE.
Create a well thought out but simple color scheme, see http://paletton.com/ or http://colrd.com/palette/ for inspiration (play with the site to get a scheme that fits your topic – focus on no more than 3 main colors)
The proper use of heading tags (h1, h2, etc.) for sections and hierarchy of the website.
Use at least one Google font in the CSS style sheet and ensure that you are using a font other than the standard times new roman fonts.
Include a footer
Have fun with this one. It’s always great to see what everyone ends up doing for their designs. Soon we will publish our webpages and share our work with our classmates. Here is a snippet of an example for some inspiration.
