Clinical Scenario (topic): Mr. M. J. is a 69 year old female who had surgery 2 days ago- a right knee arthroplasty. She has bathroom privilege (BRP) and is scheduled to begin physical therapy in the morning. She informs you that she has abdominal cramping and has not had a bowel movement (BM) since before the surgery. Although you offer to help assist her to the bathroom, she politely refuses and states that the “right knee hurts too much” (8/10). She refuses to uses the bedpan or change position in bed unless the nurse insists. Her appetite is poor and she only drinks a little so that “I won’t have to go”.
Essay should include the following:
1. Introduction to the topic (clinical scenario mentioned above).
2. Description of your client and the care of your client.
3. Comparing and contrasting your textbook and evidence-based practice regarding your topic.
4. Conclude by summarizing and reflecting on what was learned from the assignment and how it will impact your practice in the future.
Instructions:
1. Your paper must be APA format and at least 750 words not to exceed 1000 words.
2. Double space your paper and use Times New Roman standard 12-point font.
3. A minimum of two (2) references must be used. The two references will include the required class textbook and at least one outside scholarly source (ex. journal article). APA format must be used citing and referencing sources.
