You are expected to consider a theme, issue, debate, controversy, or problem associated with the study of sexuality and gender identity, take a position on your topic, and argue your point of view using evidence from course readings and researched sources. This is a thesis essay with a significant research component that will require a bibliography of at least five substantial academic sources and which follows directly from your proposal and annotated bibliography (both are attached). While it makes sense to use the same readings listed in your annotated bibliography, you are allowed to change readings from that assignment depending on how you decide to revise your work. In your essay you will need to make a critically astute and provocative claim and argue your case. Please begin your thesis with the phrase, “In this essay I will argue that…” Please do NOT bold oritalicize your thesis.
