This week we are reading much about systems of power at the global scale (globalization, neoliberalism, imperialism), but also about the effects these power imbalances have at the micro-social level (cultures, identities, interactions, etc.). Comment on how any of these readings has helped you think about the future of social diversity. Do you think that diversity in cultures, perspectives or identities is encouraged or repressed (or both? neither?) by current global trends? How so? Please provide an illustrative example.
