“The Adventure of Andara”
Hi, I’m Josh and I am 12 years old and right now I live on Oak Street. One night, me and my friends were out in the jungle. We were trying to find an ancient city called Andara. It was lost in the 9th century, and no one has found it yet. My friend’s names are Kaeden and Zoey. Our parents are explorers; they have been looking for Andara for 20 years.
“Hey Kaeden do you want to go north or south?” I asked. Kaeden replied, “let’s go south, because that’s where the sun rises.” So, I agreed, “ok let’s go! I see a tiger. Let’s go around it, so we don’t take any chances. What do you think Zoey?” Zoey added, “I think we should go toward it, because it is more afraid of us than we are of it.” We looked at Kaeden and said, “what do you think?” Kaeden was game, and said, “um let’s do it.” “Alright let’s go!” I shouted.
So, we started going near it, and Zoey whispered, “be careful, we don’t want to startle it.” (then there was a long silence). Just as we got closer, Kaeden stepped on a stick. He yells, “run, run, run let’s go!” The tiger chased us quickly, but we all kept running. “Keep running, guys,” I said to the group. “Kaeden, Zoey where do we go?” “Zoey?” Yeah, I got an idea we should run through the trees over there. I think I see monkeys. If we run through then the tiger will chase the monkeys. Then we will hide and wait for the tiger to leave. (Tiger runs away after the monkey). Ok I think we are good. Let’s start going east. What do you guys think? I’m in. So am I. Let’s go! (1 hour later) I think I see something, it’s a house! (Knocks on door) Hello, is anybody home? “I see someone,” said Kaeden. “Hello” said a mysterious figure. “Hi……” said Josh. “Who are you?” asked Kaeden. “I’m Gertrude; I live here.” said Gertrude. “Im Josh, she’s Zoey and he’s Kaeden. Were looking for the lost city of Andara”. “ I know where it is,” said Gertrude.
“Where is it?” said Josh. “It is South of here; that’s all I can tell you,” said Gertrude. “Ok let’s start heading south then!” said Josh. (one hour later) “I see it,” said Josh. The city, I see it let’s go in. ( hears a growl) “What was that” said Kaeden. “It was probably just some rocks falling, it’s an old city” said Josh. “Those panther statues look so real”, said Zoey. (panthers come to life) “They are coming to life” said Zoey.
“Run,” yelled Zoey. “Lets go!” yelled Kaeden. ( Kaeden gets dragged off by Panther) “NO KAEDEN!” said Josh. “We have to keep going or it will do the same to us!” said Zoey. “Ok,” whispered Josh. “Lets keep going” grumbled Josh. (1 hour later).
