T‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍he assignment is designed to assess the student’s understanding of and ability to utilize the research process and apply this methodology to social psychology. Students will explore the topic using at least two peer reviewed research articles from scholarly journals and create a research question on the topic. Thinking about research methodology, students will create a hypothesis (remember that this should be testable, specific, and realistically implemented) and develop survey questions to “test” the hypothesis (more on this in the next paragraph). Your research articles should help you gain information about your research question and help you target in on your hypothesis. A tutorial for using Google Forms You will need at least 10 questions. Your questions should be specific and measurable and should help you test your hypothesis. As you develop your questions think about how you will need to quanti‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍fy the data. You may deploy you surveys by sharing the link, through social media, etc. The last component of the project (other than presenting your results) is to discuss how the results relate back to the hypothesis and what they really mean. Was this what you expected to find based on the previous research? Why are your results important? Does it really matter? What suggestions would you make to individuals based on these findings? What were the potential limitations of your study? Your results and processing of the results should again be in a Google document within the Google Folder. Your presentation will need to include: Introduction of topic (brief) Highlights of your literary review Hypothesis Survey (perhaps a link to the survey or the survey questions) The “what, why, where, who, and how” of the survey Results Meaning of results What you learned and what you would do differently if you did i‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍t again
