Expansion, Conflict and Decline: Rome and the Han Dynasty are some of the greatest imperial empires in history and there are many similarities between their rise and decline. Both had intricate cultures and ethos; experienced great financial (and cultural) gains from the expansion of trade. At the same time, both experienced turmoil from neighboring people, causing social and economic upheaval; Economic problems rooted in taxes, over spending and class divide, as well as; Political disarray rooted in competition for power and influence. Focusing on finding similarities and drawing connections, analyze the similar (*social, *economic and/or *political) problems that occurred Rome (either Republic or Empire, just stay consistent and specify) and the Han Dynasty; and examine how these problems contribute to their ultimate decline and fall.
