Case Study #3 – Counterintelligence Approach. Due at the end of Week 8 (15% of course grade). Compare the United States’ approach to counterintelligence with that of either the UK, France, Russia, China, or Israel (pick one). How do they differ from a (1) philosophical, (2) policy, (3) legal, and (4) organizational perspective? Note that while there are many sources addressing the intelligence threat posed by these nations, the sources that authoritatively deal with their counterintelligence approaches are scarce in some cases (e.g., China). Locate as much information as possible about the FIE. Also, make sure to address each CI entity (US and selected nation) completely in each topic area as follows: (1) philosophical: what drives the CI activities for each country (political, ideology, etc). What is the mission of each country’s CI approach? (2) policy: what are the strategies in each country that guide how CI activities are conducted. (3) legal: what are the laws in each country that permit or restrict the agencies authority (what they can and cannot do) (4) organizational perspective: How do the different countries compare in the structure of the organizations that conduct CI activities. Organization: The paper should be organized in sections by the required topics (above) to include section headings formatted in accordance with APA 7th Edition guidelines. The paper should be at least 8 (minimum) to 10 (maximum) pages (not including the cover page, introduction, and references) using double-spaced, 12 point fonts. Sources/References: The paper should cite at least one (1) reference for each page written, not including the cover page, introduction, and references. Resources must be properly cited within the body of the text and reflected in the references using APA format and citation rules.
