1. This is a take-home exam about the test report
2. This should be no more than 5 pages, double space.
3. The report should analyze the three tests about the RCTs or QEDs (should be three RCTs or three QEDs).
4. Please find the test resources by yourself and carefully follow the instruction. The instruction is followed:
The main object for you is to
a. Identify and read up on three RCTs or high quality QEDs in which the study authors did not find expected effects on the main outcome variable(s).
b. Select the RCTs/QEDs from a meta-analysis (null effects in a forest plot) OR select three RCTs/QED on the same intervention based on a literature search.
c. In the exam that your submit, specify the meta-analysis (if used) and the three reports using APA style for references, and give hyperlinks to them.
d. Focus on the main outcome variables covered by the authors and for which they detected no effects.
e. Describe the studies in the exam paper briefly but attend mainly to to the author’s explanations of why they did not get expected effects in each study. If no reasons are given, then say that.
f. Give your own opinion if you have an informed one, but separate your opinion from the author’s opinions about failure.
5. Please read the two articles carefully since this should be useful for answering some points about the instruction (like part a).
6. The project should be divided into three parts, and each part should talk about a test and should follow the instruction. (You can just use subtitles for the three RCTs/QEDs you choose and then analyze each one according to instruction from a to f.
