Attended Highschool 2000-2004, attended tech school and recieved medical assistant certification. I’ve worked in healthcare since I was a senior in highschool. And currently work at a hospital as a patient care technician
o Life experiences that influenced your interest in nursing:
Car accident in July 2003, resulted in traumatic brain injury and internal injuries. I had to learn how to walk and talk again, was told I would not be able to handle going to college. So I entered a medical assistant program and found out how interesting the medical field is and really enjoyed helping people. Fast forward to now, I completed an associates degree program and realized I can do more with increasing my education. I decided nursing is the best career for me.
o Life experiences that prepared you to care for a diverse population of patients:
Working in healthcare since highschool and always meeting new patients with different backgrounds. Especially working in a hospital, I am always around people with different backgrounds, illness’s, mental health issues…etc
