After reviewing the case below, choose two perspectives (neuroscience, humanistic, cognitive, psychodynamic, or behavioral) to create a short dialogue between two psychologists discussing Sara’s behavior. Feel free to be creative in your dialogue! Define your two chosen perspectives and briefly discuss the differences of each approach. What was one missing in your dialogue from the case that the other helped to explain?
For example, what would a psychodynamic psychologist say about Sara’s behavior versus a cognitive psychologist? Your dialogue might look something like this:
Psychodynamic Psychologist: Sara seems to be exhibiting these behaviors as a result of unconscious thoughts and conflicts she may not be aware of.
Cognitive Psychologist: That could be true! But I think a possible cause of Sara’s anxiety could stem from the way she thinks about the world around her. Her thinking is distorted and we should work to change that.
Psychodynamic Psychologist: Hmm… Sara’s parents did get a divorce when she was in high school. She could have possibly repressed those feelings that are now coming to the surface from her own recent divorce.
Cognitive Psychologist: Yes, but we are still not getting at the root of the way Sara thinks and processes information. She excessively worries about everything, not just her parent’s divorce and her own.
Case
Sara is 35-year-old woman currently struggling with increasing pressure at work and a recent divorce among many other things in her life. At the urging of her friends and family, she sought counseling and was diagnosed with Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Sara has a tendency to worry excessively about her children, money, friends, cat, and just about everything else where other people might not find a reason to worry. At work, she has trouble concentrating and is finding it difficult to perform at her best. Her boss is putting more pressure on her to perform better and meet sales goals for the quarter. In general, Sara feels like she is often on edge, tense, exhausted and is very irritable, which has impacted her everyday life. The amount of stress and anxiety Sara is experiencing in her life is also contributing to her depression. She feels as though she is in a vicious cycle she cannot escape.
When Sara was in middle school, her parents argued a lot and she often heard them talking about divorce. In high school, Sara’s parents finally followed through and divorced, which made Sara feel very alone and not in control of her own life. She said that she still feels that she is not in control, worries often, and cannot control how she feels, despite her attempts.
Be sure to make connections between your ideas and conclusions and the research, concepts, terms, and theory we are discussing this week.

Pick one of the two scenarios below and develop a plan for initial functional communication training with this client.
Describe functional communication training and its purpose.
Identify what the reinforcer will be for the communicative response.
Identify an appropriate communicative response for the client.
Describe how you will teach the communicative response (include the use of contrived or natural establishing operations, use of prompts and prompt fading, and reinforcement schedule).
Scenario #1: Josie is a 49-year-old woman with a diagnosis of severe intellectual disability. She has limited language skills, but is capable of an occasional, one-word vocal response. Her target behavior is self-injurious behavior in the form of slapping the sides of her face with both hands using a light amount of force. At most, there is a slight redness following the slapping behavior. You conducted a functional assessment and found that the function of self-injurious behavior was attention from staff in her group home. When she slaps her face, staff usually come over to her, console her, and say things like, “Josie, why are your hurting yourself? Please don’t hurt yourself.” The staff member then usually sits with her for a few minutes and talks with her.
Scenario #2: Andrew is a 12-year-old boy with a diagnosis of severe intellectual disability. He has limited language skills and does not use vocal responses to communicate. He is capable of using picture cards to communicate. He already has an extensive repertoire of using a picture exchange system to request preferred items. His target behavior is property destruction defined as using his arms to push all items off the table and onto the floor, ripping worksheets in half, and snapping pencils in half. You conducted a functional assessment and found the function of property destruction was escape from demands. When he engages in property destruction, his teacher removes the demand and moves on to another student. If Andrew rips up a worksheet, it is not replaced with another and he is not required to complete the task. Andrew is not required to pick up items pushed to the floor. His teacher’s response has been to remove any request and ignore Andrew when he engages in property destruction.

It is important to create a plan for supervision when you are responsible for supervising others. Your plan can include goals and measurement criteria for assessing skills. It is required that supervisors create a contract to sign with their supervisees that outlines the guidelines for supervision. This discussion board is all about Section 4 from the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts, which discusses the responsibility to supervisors and supervisees.
Scenario
Picture yourself embarking on your required supervised independent fieldwork. You have obtained a position with a local company that provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to those with diagnoses of autism and developmental disabilities.
Discussion
Describe Section 4: Responsibility to Supervisees and Trainees, and each of its codes. Discuss your supervisor’s responsibilities to you.

one:
After learning more from the text about toddler development and the motivation behind their behavior (especially Erikson’s stage of autonomy vs. shame & doubt and research on toddlers’ compliance and active resistance), do you think that “the terrible twos,” a commonly used expression to characterize typical toddler behavior, is a fair description? Why or why not? You can use your own personal experience with toddlers (younger siblings, children, etc.) to support your answer as well as information from the text.
two :
How would you describe your temperament as a young child? Do you think it has remained stable, or has it changed? What factors might be involved?
three :
Pretend you have been asked to speak to a group of parents and preschool teachers about early motor development. What topics would you include in your presentation? For example, what gross- and fine-motor advances occur during the preschool years? Will parents and teachers notice differences between boys and girls? How can adults enhance children’s motor development? What activities or behaviors should adults avoid, and why?
four :
One day, Leslie prepared a new snack to serve at preschool: celery stuffed with ricotta cheese and pineapple. The first time she served it, few children touched it. How can Leslie encourage her students to accept the snack? What tactics should she avoid?

After watching the video “Investigating Trees,” answer the following questions:
-In what ways are the activities in this lesson developmentally appropriate (e.g. hands-on, active learning activities)?
-Which activities in this lesson are related to mathematics? Literacy? Art? Science?
-How did the teachers in this video facilitate learning? What materials did they provide? What questions did they ask children?

Development is a big area of psychology that addresses development within humans between conception and death. The fiend of developmental psychology has roots as far back as the late 1800’s and was one of the first major focuses of the field while it was still young.
Development is broken down into four categories:
Physical
Social
Emotional
Cognitive
This assignment will focus on the area of cognitive development.
For this assignment:
Explain the four stages of cognitive development proposed by Jean Piaget
While explaining each of the stages be sure to provide the following details:
Age range of each stage
Characteristics of thought at each stage
Related concepts presented in the book (schemas, assimilation, accommodation, object permanence, conservation, egocentrism, theory of mind)

Literature review of 2 pages; double-space of the topic above! This assignment is divided between others, and my part is this one. Each of us has to do 2 pages. It’s for a research project. This is not the title of the research project; it’s just the title of my part. I already have some references; if you find others that are more helpful than the ones I have, that’s even better! I prefer references from 2013-2024. If you find references regarding mental health professionals and community mental health clinics, even better; if not, that’s okay as long as it’s related to my part. The research project has to do with a community mental health clinic and mental health professionals, so that’s why. Feel free to contact me if you have questions!

This should be written in a cognitive psychology perspective.
For the rest of the page you will watch the documentary (the full video is 1 hour 42 minutes) that will be linked below the instructions. This documentary follows a group of women at a voluntary in-patient eating disorders clinic. After watching the video respond the following questions:
1) From a CBT (cognitive behavioral perspective), identify 3 maladaptive thoughts/cognitive distortions) you heard some of the women expressing in regards to their eating disorders?
2) Identify 3 affective or emotional symptoms of the patients with anorexia.
3) Identify 2-3 co-morbid disorders that you see commonly in the women.
4) Provide one example where the family environment likely contributed to the development of one of the patient’s eating disorder.
These questions should be answered from the abnormal psychology perspective. The link below will take you to the YouTube video of the documentary. The YouTube version is slightly grainy but there may be other ways to watch the documentary.

This week you synthesize your review of scholarly literature and address the theoretical foundation or practice orientation for your study. Let’s discuss how your proposed study benefits the field. For this week’s discussion, choose one of the following for your post:
Discuss how your study is grounded in your field and the problem it addresses. Which new or different aspect of the problem does your proposed study address? How does this motivate you to continue your work?
Share how your study results may address the problem. Are you finding anything in your work that particularly surprises you? What will practitioners do better once they have the insights from your project?
As we wrap up this week, share resources from the course, the library, or your peers that were most relevant and immediately useful to your project.

The teacher is looking for a brief (paragraph) summary of an empirical paper related to our class study, akin to how you would write about it in your introduction. For example, instead of telling me all of the measures used and the exact statistics, you would tell me only enough details about the basic design, procedure, and results so that I can understand what the study found (we’ll talk about how to strike the appropriate level of detail). Relate the article to our current study. Points will be allocated as follows: 10 points for correct APA style citation (the full citation as it will appear in your References section), 10 points for summary of design of study (e.g., “In one experiment,” or “In a correlational study”), 20 points for summary of findings, and 10 points for relating back to your hypotheses. If a paper includes more than one study, please focus on ONE of them (the one most relevant to your hypotheses). In this second article summary, you also need to include your hypotheses, so I can provide feedback on them (and so I can ensure that you are properly relating your article back to your hypotheses).
The one study I’m focusing on is gratitude.
I have attached the article I chose to use which is “Are Some Ways of Expressing Gratitude More Beneficial Than Others?” and our class study article she wants us to refer to which is “The proximal experience of gratitude”
I also attached a document that helps with the hypothesis. And the two dependent variables i chose was gratitude and indebtness.
Lastly I attached an example my teacher provided for the summary.
