This assignment will cover the required articles for the week, so please be sure to have read those before starting this assignment. It may be helpful to have the articles open while writing this paper or to write down notes while reading the articles beforehand. This assignment addresses course outcomes 1 – 5 and module learning objectives 1-4.
You are required to write a 1 page reaction paper on your thoughts while reading the assigned articles for the week. You could write about what you found interesting, what surprised you, discuss how the content relates to the readings for the week, or relate the article content to your previous knowledge. Do not simply tell me what’s in the articles, I have read them already.
Formatting: This should be written in Microsoft Word and requires the correct formatting. Specifically, this assignment needs to be at least 1 complete page double-spaced. You are required to write in 12-point times new roman font. You do not need to list your name, class, or date at the top of this paper. Please only include a centered title “Reaction Paper Module 1”, and then begin your paper below. There should be no extra spacing between the paragraphs, or under the title, beyond the original double spaced format. While grading is mainly based on content, there should be minimal grammatical mistakes so that the paper is legible. Points will be deducted if the paper is too difficult to read.

Mike the Headless Chicken, also known as “Miracle Mike,” was a real chicken that lived in the 1940s. The story goes that on September 10, 1945, a farmer named Lloyd Olsen beheaded Mike, intending to prepare him for dinner. However, much to Olsen’s surprise, Mike survived the beheading and continued to live for several weeks. Mike became a sensation, touring with sideshows and attracting attention from scientists and curious onlookers. He lived for 18 months without a head before eventually choking to death in a motel in Arizona in March 1947.

Think about a college class. How may the principles of motivation be employed in that class? What are some things about the class structure or the way the professor conducts the class that are likely increasing student motivation? Be specific! Say what is happening in the class and what principle it follows. What are some changes that you think the professor could make to their class to better motivate students? Again – be specific! Say a change and tell what principle it connects to.

I included the paper that I already started! I’ve also included all of the powerpoints used to explain how to write the paper up AND the rubrics to each of the sections of the paper. For tomorrow I MAINLY need the entire results, references, etc section to be completed with a table and figure (exact instructions are in that powerpoint!) but I of course need the entire paper done 🙂 Thank you so, so much, whoever you are and please fell free to contact me at anytime if you need anything else to help with the paper. In psychology, the relationship between happiness and unhappiness is an important area of study. Some theorists believe that we can’t truly understand happiness without also experiencing unhappiness. They argue that these two emotions are closely connected.
For this discussion:
Do you agree or disagree with the idea that experiencing unhappiness is necessary to fully understand happiness? Explain your position.
To support your viewpoint:
Share one personal example from your life that relates to this idea.
Include two psychological concepts that help explain your perspective.
Reference one psychological theory that explores the connection between positive and negative emotions.
Include two scholarly references (e.g., your textbook, academic articles, or credible psychological sources) to support your argument. Must not be the same scholarly reference.
Formatting Requirements:
Use APA format for both in-text citations and your reference list. For example:
In-text citation: (Author, Year).
Reference list: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the article/book. Journal Name/Publisher, volume(issue), page range. DOI or URL if applicable.
Remember to:
Make sure your post is clear and well-organized.
Reply to two classmates. Your responses should offer thoughtful insights to further the conversation about how happiness and unhappiness shape our emotional experiences.

Our text states: “When there are gaps between what our clients need and what we are able to provide them, an idea for research is born”. What counseling issues interest you? What presenting problems do you believe call for a more effective intervention? Identify the gap between the needs of a particular client type and the treatments available. Based on this, decide upon a research area relating to the field of mental health, in general, or counseling/mental health counseling, in particular (Abuse, Addictions, AIDS, Anger, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Problems, Communication/Assertion Skills Communication in Sexual Behavior, Depression, Disabilities, Diversity, Drugs,| Eating Disorder, Grief, Military/Veterans, Relationships, Relaxation and Stress, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, Sleep, Suicide, Trauma, Other).that you would like to investigate. **The outline should be set up as a standard type of outline. (Feel free to Google an outline) **Bibliography -Visit the ACA website at www.counseling.org. What is the flagship journal of ACA? List the titles of 15 recent (within the past 5 years) articles from that publication that support your research topic. Investigate the articles from your list. For each article – what was/were the research question(s) directing the study? What were the hypotheses (if applicable)? How did the researcher(s) conduct sampling? How did the study address generalizability? **Research Question(s) and Hypotheses (50 pts) You have identified an area of interest or a research problem. Using the examples provided in your text, develop a corresponding research question and one or more hypotheses for the identified research problem. ***Research Paper (100 pts) – You will write an 8 page research paper on the topic you selected. Papers must conform to the following guidelines (APA Guidelines): • 1-inch margins on all four sides of paper • Times New Roman font • 12-point character size • Double-spaced • Title and reference pages do not count as part of the 8 pages (the actual number of pages will be approximately 10-12 pages

YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD AND USE JASP FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT. Use your variable for JASP: news and happy. NEWS-How often does respondent read newspaper. This question asks respondents to rate how often they read the newspaper (Likert scale). HAPPY- General happiness. This question asks the respondents to rate how happy they are (small Likert scale). Download the data of news and happy from the Week 3 Prepare: For This Week’s Assignment activity. Download the Getting Started With Your Data [DOCX] worksheet- WORKSHEET IS ATTACHED. Ensure JASP is installed and set up (see the Week 1 Prepare: Statistical Software Download and Installation activity). Find one job opening for a job you could apply for with a bachelor’s degree that requires the use of statistics—some good, key search terms: psychology research assistance or survey data analysis. Instructions Complete and submit the Getting Started With Your Data [DOCX] worksheet- WORKSHEEET IS ATTACHED.

Engaging with each other is essential in an online course. You discussed collecting baseline data. Baseline data simply provide a picture of the client’s behavior prior to interventions. It allows you to measure the frequency, duration, intensity and/or latency of the target behavior. You will use these data to help guide treatment decisions. You can also apply this type of baseline measurement to your personal life. For example, if you want to decrease your weekly expenses, what type of baseline data would you collect to start modifying your spending habits?
For this conversation, identify ONE goal, habit, or behavior you would like to modify in your personal life. This could be related to health, career, finances, child rearing, et cetera.
Describe your goal and identify the baseline data you will have to gather to set behavior change goals. Develop a plan to collect the data you need.
Explain the types of things that should be considered when choosing a measurement system.
RESPOND AND COMMENT TO 3 LEARNERS WITH 3 SENTESES EACH
LEARNER #1—–One goal in my personal life that I would like to modify is improving my daily exercise routine.
Baseline data will be:
Frequency: How many days a week do I exercise?
Duration: How long do I spend in each exercise sessions
Types of exercise: What kind of exercise do I do? Cardio or weightlifting.
Motivation: How is my motivation when engaged in exercising from a scale of 1-10.
When analyzing this data, I would create a plan where I collect data every day when I do exercise. I would track my progress, the time spent during exercise, and also how I feel before and after doing exercise. Every week I will review my progress and make changes by comparing it against the baseline. When choosing a measurement system there are a lot of main factors to consider but in this case, I must consider flexibility and precision. Flexibility because I have to be able to adapt and increase my exercise routine and precision because I want to be realistic and obtain a precise tracking of my workout.
