The Paris Climate Agreement is an international treaty developed and adopted by 196 parties on 12 December 2015. The stated purpose of the agreement is to substantially reduce the production of global greenhouse gas emissions to limit the effect on the global climate. While the agreement addressed the problem from a global perspective, little was addressed related to local initiatives. Research and discuss one local or regional initiative which has been implemented to decrease greenhouse gases in North Carolina. Citing at least two external sources, write a paper that answers the following questions about the initiative: 1. What is the name of the initiative? 2. What city, state or region does it cover? 3. What are the stated goals of the initiative? 4. How does the initiative propose to reach those goals? 5. How successful has the initiative been at reaching its goals? 6. What level of support has the public shown for the initiative? Your external sources can be peer-reviewed journal articles or secondary sources such as trade journals, texts, local newspapers or magazines and the Internet. Once complete, submit the paper to this Dropbox. 350 words minimum, APA format.

Your thesis looks interesting!
Your sources look good, so just make sure they’re all in APA format.
It might be interesting to include a public opinion poll of how the public feels concerning the death penalty.
Does this tend to be a political issue? Either way, you’ll want to delve into why this issue is important to candidates and elected officials, or why it’s often overlooked.
You’ll want to discuss the cases of Furman v. Georgia and Gregg v. Georgia in depth, as both dealt with the constitutionality of the death penalty.

The emphasis should be on coherence of argument, rather than simple breadth of coverage. It is important that the writing presents a clear argument; is analytical, rather than descriiptive; and, at the top end, demonstrates critical and evaluative skills. Students should be guided by their seminar notes, weekly readings, in-class discussions and own independent research.

Final Paper Question: When the OceanGate Titan submersible went missing last mon

Final Paper Question:
When the OceanGate Titan submersible went missing last month with 5 passengers on board, the United States, Canada, the UK, and France poured resources into an expensive search and rescue effort. Around the same time, a boat heading to Italy from Libya carrying 750 migrants capsized off the coast of Greece. Dozens on the boat were killed and hundreds remain missing, yet they barely received rescue efforts or garnered as much attention as the submersible. In your essay, draw from class topics such as, but not limited to, colonialism, imperialism, capitalism, and human rights to explain the drastically different responses. Below are articles that may help you as you write your paper. Remember, you are not expected to be an expert on the events, but you will be evaluated on your ability to understand and apply class concepts.
