For this project you will be creating a nonprofit organization of your choice that addresses needs that are not being met by local and or state government in Nevada. This must be related to Nevada only or a city/town in Nevada. This organization should address some inadequacy that politicians or policies have failed to address. (homelessness, deficits in education and students needing more help outside of school, human trafficking victims/children, deaf community, victims of gun violence, mental health patients, domestic violence victims (men/women, abused children, patient advocacy for victims of the medical system, an awareness group of some sort pertaining to food safety etc.)
These will be the steps that you will complete in order on a word document. No cover page or abstract required.
Step One: Organization Name
Step Two: Your Organization’s Mission (this will require research on your part to know what a mission should consist of.) 3-5 sentences minimum.
Step Three: Your Organization’s Vision/Purpose (what will your organization hope to accomplish?) 3-5 sentences minimum
Step Four: Pick five board members. These will not be specific people per say. You will have a Director and ideally four members (board member 1, CPA, etc.). What are their positions (Is one a lawyer? One an accountant?) For each person, please list their hypothetical title and what their qualifications should be. (degree requirement? years of experience? job history in nonprofit required? etc.) These should be quality descriptions of each person with no less than 5 sentences per person.
Step Five: Decide on the three programs that your organization will offer. You must have three distinct programs that you not only name, but provide a one paragraph description of each to receive full credit.
Step Six: Where will the money come from? (Donors, grants, government etc. – you will want to be specific about this). You need to be specific about where they money is coming from, why you chose this, and how it will be used.
Step Seven: 500 word reflection of this process and how you feel about it. Why is your non-profit important to the state of Nevada? If you were to present it in a hearing to the state legislature what would you say to be heard and to have your non-profit not only recognized, but supported? (A former student actually used this project to do just that)
Step Eight: Reference page with FULL APA citations that you use. You should have at least TWO scholarly sources. References are non-negotiable.

Overview: Over the nine months of CEP, you learn about the process it takes to get a bill from an idea to law. In this second half of CEP, it’s time to put some of the skills you’ve learned into practice. You and your pod will have the opportunity to follow a real bill and apply the skills you’ve learned in CEP as you track the bill during the 2024 Legislative Session. You all will decide if you would like to track a bill that your pod host is working on or if you want to track another bill that is more meaningful to you and your pod.
Directions
As a pod, choose a bill and get it approved by Michelle & Dan by February 9, 2024. This bill can be one that your pod-host is working on or one that you and your pod find meaningful.
Answer the who, what, when, and how of the bill
Who introduced it?
What organizations are working on it?
What problem(s) is this bill trying to solve for?
When was it introduced?
How long have people been working on this bill?
Decide on a position on the bill
Powermap the bill
Using your digital power map, determine who your supporters, opposers, or who’s neutral on you your bill
For this, also determine if there are coalitions working on this bill
Create a one-pager on the bill
Attend a hearing on your bill

Each group will be given 20 minutes to share about their bill and 10 minutes for questions
Presentations should include:

Hi! So if you see the pdf of the rubric, it will explain the requirements. 2 short essays each 2-3 pages based on the attached books. I added points that help with the topics:
essay 1:
Historical and Religious Claims: Both sides claim ancient religious and historical rights to the land, creating fundamental disputes over sovereignty.
Colonial Legacies and Political Decisions: The borders and nations shaped by colonial powers, especially post-World War II, have left lasting impacts on regional dynamics.
Displacement and Refugees: The displacement of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War created a significant refugee issue that fuels ongoing grievances.
Territorial Occupation and Settlements: Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and settlement expansion since 1967 intensify territorial disputes and hinder peace efforts.
Political and Leadership Divides: Divided leadership within both Israeli and Palestinian communities complicates negotiations and diminishes opportunities for peace.
International Influence and Interventions: External political and military support affects the strategies and resilience of both parties, often exacerbating the conflict.
essay 2
Political Authoritarianism: The dominance of authoritarian regimes limits political freedom and discourages reforms.
Economic Dependency: Over-reliance on oil revenues prevents economic diversification and stability.
Education and Unemployment: Outdated educational systems do not meet the needs of modern economies, contributing to high youth unemployment.
Social and Cultural Factors: Cultural resistance to change, including gender inequality, hampers societal and economic progress.
External Political Influences: Foreign interventions and geopolitical dynamics destabilize regions and divert resources from development.
