Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 500–700 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
Community health centers have long served as a healthcare safety net for vulnerable populations, such as the underinsured and uninsured. Community health centers provide primary, dental, and urgent care. They are located in a federally-designated medically underserved area (MUA), or they serve medically underserved populations (MUP).
Complete the following for this assignment:
Visit a community health center Web site. (It can pertain to Maryland, US)
Describe the mission and goals of the center, the services provided by the center, and the case mix of the participants.
Summarize the information, and share it with your classmates on the Discussion Board.

Now that are moving deeper into the literature surrounding your proposed project, it is imperative for you to stay engaged with review, appraisal, and synthesis activities.
Using the Synthesis Matrix Table you submitted in week 4, update the table with a minimum of an additional 5 resources of evidence. Meaning your updated table will now minimally include 10 resources.
Direct access to the article is essential for grading. Either upload all evidence along with your table or be sure an activated link is provided to ensure it leads directly to the article you are presenting.

What are significant social needs in your community and how can you help? Throug

What are significant social needs in your community and how can you help? Through your professional role as a nurse and personal interactions as a community member, you likely have insight into issues that impact certain populations. Chances are you also see from your daily interaction with patients how lack of information or information that is not easily accessible or understandable prevents patients from making changes or getting resources and support that would improve their lives.
Using your knowledge of the social determinants of health and the needs of particular groups, you can be a significant advocate for a healthier community. Think of yourself as a bridge that connects those who need resources with those who can provide them. Every organization can use another voice to spread the word on what they do and offer. And vulnerable populations will benefit from an advocate who is aware of potential barriers, such as language or literacy levels, in recommending community resources.
For this Assignment, you will identify a particular population in your community and research to understand their specific characteristics and needs, and then match them to organizations and services in your community. You will organize your research using a PowerPoint presentation. Think of your presentation as a place to start in determining how best to reach and inform your focus population and in filling your role as a social change agent with the information you gather.
To complete the Assignment:
Using the PPT template provided, create the plans for educational resources to inform your focus population. Your completed PowerPoint presentation of 8–10 slides should include the following:
Title Slide
Focus Population for Advocacy: Identify the specific population for whom you are advocating as a social change agent in your community and describe key characteristics of this population (e.g., age, language, culture). Be specific with examples.
Focus Population’s Needs: Identify the focus population’s specific needs based on the social determinants of health (SDoH). Include examples to explain these needs.
Community Resources: Present resources (i.e., organizations and services) in your community you would recommend to your focus population to address specific needs and improve health and well-being as defined by the SDoH. Include:
at least three community resources or three slides of resources;
all information your focus population would need (e.g., location, hours, special services, free services/materials, online links) to access and benefit from each resource;
strategies that you demonstrate or describe to make the information easy to understand, use, and encourage action by the focus population.
Reaching the Focus Population: Describe strategies for reaching your focus population with the community resource information you have identified and that align with characteristics of this population. Be specific with examples.
Reference Slide: Include a reference slide with resources in APA format that support your research in creating the presentation.

I have given you plenty of content and background to answer the questions, so please use that info to answer the questions in a more formal manner that will reflect an ideal candidate for the program. I will also provide a link to the school.
https://health.ucdavis.edu/nursing/academics/programs/dnp-nurse-anesthesia.html
1)Reflect on your journey towards pursuing a career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Discuss experiences, influences, and personal motivations that have inspired you to choose this path, at this school, and why this point in your life is the right time for you to pursue this career. Please include why you have selected UC Davis for your doctoral studies, highlighting specific aspects of our program that resonate with your career aspirations and personal values.
(I first worked with CRNA’s during my travel contract to New York during covid pandemic where I truly got to respect the profession which inspired me to be a CRNA. I have included link to the school program and also attached a section where they talk about building a new program which I think will fit well with this question.” Rather than hampered by legacy programs, Sareerak says developing a new program from the ground up offers unique opportunities for both faculty and students. He compares it to building a new house, where each element is designed and then constructed exactly as you envision.” I was also born and raised in Cali so this is the population I want to work for.)
2)Detail your current critical care experience. Include the type of acuity you manage, the number of ventilated patients, the use of vasoactive medications, and hemodynamic monitoring techniques you employ.
(Hight acuity patients which include intubated, Septic patients, post code, ARDS, Neurosurgical patients, DKA, cardiac patients. All vasoactive medications and the use of arterial lines and Cheetah NICOM to monitor advanced hemodynamics)
3)Outline any leadership roles you have held at work or in the community. How have these experiences prepared you for a leadership role in nurse anesthesia?
( I am a relief charge nurse, I precept new grad students and oncoming travelers and staff nurses, I volunteered on a medical mission trip to costa rica to provide healthcare, I speak at my nursing school to discuss my experience as a new grad taking travel crisis contracts to covid impacted areas in NY and Texas, I am apart of safe patient handling committees to champion and establish safety measures and a Unit Based team member.)
4)Explain your commitment to diversity and inclusion. Provide examples of how you have promoted these values in your professional or personal life.
(I am a diversity CRNA member)
5)Describe a significant challenge or adversity you have faced. How did you overcome this obstacle, and what did you learn from the experience about resilience?
(I graduated in Dec 2019 and received my license feb 2020. This was during the covid outbreak. There were no training programs and all hiring was shut down. I managed to secure a travel contract to NY the epicenter of the covid outbreak where I began taking care of highly acute patients without any training or orientation despite the fact that I was told by many that I was not ready for that level of care for a new grad. Working 84 hours a week. )
6)Given this program’s full-time, rigorous nature, describe the support systems you have established or plan to establish to manage your studies alongside other competing demands.
(great support system that consist of family, friends, girlfriend, my emotional support dog who all chipped in previously during my travels during covid. Financially I have saved up money and I am in the process of completing an ADU which will cover my mortage and provide significant financial relief)
Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Directions: Students may work alone or with 1 partner on a presentation related to a specific culture or ethnic group. May sure both names are on the report. Once a specific culture or ethnic group is selected it may not be presented by other students. Students will use PowerPoint or similar presentation software, such as Google docs or Keynote, to create a presentation for the class that details:
Specific aspects of the culture,
Nursing implications, and
Ethical considerations
The presentation must cover all the listed aspects of the culture:
geographical location
how they communicate
family roles and organization
biological features like skin color
physical characteristics
common diseases
nutrition
pregnancy and childbearing practices
death rituals
spirituality
high-risk health behaviors
health care beliefs and practices
attitudes to health-care practitioners
Suggestions for nursing implications (include all the below):
how to provide culturally-competent or culturally-sensitive care
how to communicate with them
what to include in health promotion education
how to show respect for their beliefs regarding birth, death, or religion.
Suggestions for ethical considerations:
describe one aspect of their cultural practices that raises an ethical question or dilemma, such as “What should health care professionals do if/when…?” Propose a way to resolve it. List it as a separate heading.
This assignment has 2 parts (A and B) and you will submit each part together by the due date listed in the Calendar of Activities.
Part A Directions: Submit a word-processed document that outlines your presentation. It should be formatted to include at least four major headings (I, II, III, IV …) with subheadings below (A, B, C, or 1, 2, …) or as many as needed to explain what ideas will be covered in the paragraphs. it should also include all of the aspects of the culture, related nursing implications, and one ethical consideration with a proposed way to resolve it. If the aspect is not pertinent to the culture, say so.
Include a reference list in APA format with a minimum of 3-5 current, scholarly sources, including textbooks, professional journals, legitimate websites (not Wikipedia or blogs), literature from professional organizations, websites to refer patients to for health promotion education or to refer health care professionals for more information on that culture.
Part B Directions: Part B is the presentation based on the outline and reference list you submitted in Part A. References for the information on the slides should also be listed at the bottom of the slide and in a reference list at the end of the presentation in APA format.
There are two options to present the presentation: in class or via videotape submitted as an assignment. If videotaping your presentation please use any of the approved video options available and approved by the IT division. Some of these include: Studio, Mp4, Power Point with animation/audio, and a free option too at https://screencast-o-matic.com/homeLinks to an external site.. You have the choice of presenting online or in person by the defined due date. All Power Point slides must be easily viewed whether presenting online or in class. When working with a partner or group only one student needs to submit the presentation in the Module, regardless of how they present (on line or in person). A videotaped presentation MUST be a presentation with all group members present. The video must be a clear demonstration of your presentation delivery skills. Simply narrating an on-screen presentation is unacceptable. A good rule of thumb is to have the Power Point slides present a few words, and then you as the presenter should elaborate without the use of notes. The reading of notes during a presentation will receive a deduction in the total score. Please review the Project/Presentation with Delivery rubric for more specific expectations.
Your presentation should:
Increase audience awareness, understanding and knowledge of the topic.
Contain key words and phrases, no more than four lines to a slide.
Contain pertinent examples, facts and/or statistics to support your point of view.
Credit all sources and graphics in APA format where appropriate within the slides and in a Reference list at the end.
Be appropriate for a professional nursing audience.
Be organized, easy-to-navigate, and appealing to the eye. Be selective about graphics and backgrounds.
Not be read from notes or from the slides during the presentation.
Be no longer then 10-15 minutes in length.
I will obviously be completing the video part of the presentation. I just need the presentation for me to present. Thanks!
