The first file (Assignment Questions) includes the questions that we should answer.
The second file (The Practical) includes the test that I have done to identify the organisms.
The third file (The results) includes the results that I got in the laboratory.
The requirement is that answer all questions in the first file and the answers should be taken from the result file and do some research for more details. We must stick to word count – they are shown in the brackets after each question-. We need at least 6 academic references and they have to be in the Harvard system.
The deadline is on Tuesday 7/11/2023 so I need it on Monday 6/11/2023 or before.

A 79 year old man living in a nursing home has COPD, a lifetime history of heavy smoking, and hypertension. His caregivers note that he is exhibiting rigor, has a temperature of 103°F, and lacks his normal alertness. Vital signs include a blood pressure is 165/90, a pulse of 128 beats per minute, a respiratory rate of 32 breaths per minute, and a pulse oximetry on room air of 80%. He is transferred to an acute care facility where a chest X-ray reveals a right lower lobe infiltrate and his white blood cell count is 18,000/μL with a marked left shift. He has thick, foul-smelling yellow-green sputum. A sample of the sputum was grown in duplicate on trypticase soy agar (TSA) and blood agar.

You are required to write a critical analysis of the disease of your choice.
Included in this analysis, you will need to explain how the disease you chose
affects the various body systems where relevant.
The following relevant and concise information must (if pertinent) be included in
your write up. Topic selection is within the systems being covered in the course
▪ Name of disease
▪ History of the disease / Demographic Data: Age, sex, race, distribution in population
▪ Description of disease
▪ Anatomy of the system(s) involved
▪ Effects on other body systems
▪ Cause of disease
▪ Signs and symptoms
▪ Diagnosis of the disease
▪ Complications, if any
▪ Treatment options

Select a disease that affects humans or animals whose causative agent is a bacte

Select a disease that affects humans or animals whose causative agent is a bacterium, virus, fungus, protozoa, or other microorganism.
Create and deliver a presentation on your chosen disease in which you report on each of the following in detail:
Causative Agent: Describe and classify the microbe involved. If known, explain how the microbe causes/transmits the disease or interferes with normal body function. Also, describe the vector and/or life cycle for the microbe (if applicable).
Population(s) affected: What population(s) is/are at highest risk of contracting the disease? Are there any groups of people who should be tested? Please include statistical/geographical data and trends (from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, or other source [http://www.cdc.govLinks to an external site., http://www.who.intLinks to an external site., etc.]).
Course of Disease: What are the usual signs/symptoms of someone with the disease? How is the disease diagnosed? What is the usual time course for recovery? Are there complications and/or long-term effects?
Interventions: Describe possible treatments and/or medical interventions. Is there a vaccine available? How can the disease be best prevented or kept under control?

Emerging diseases are diseases that are newly identified in a population or that

Emerging diseases are diseases that are newly identified in a population or that have existed but have changed. As we have learned this week, there are many factors that influence the emergence or re-emergence of infectious diseases.
For this week’s discussion question, you will play the role of an epidemiologist and investigate an emerging disease.
Address the following criteria in your main response to this week’s discussion:
Perform some research and choose an emerging or reemerging infectious disease, Describe the emerging infectious disease.
Identify the causative agent and describe the mode of transmission for the disease.
List any factors that have affected the emergence or re-emergence of your selected disease.
In your role as an epidemiologist, what steps would you take to control the spread of the disease?
Could we use biotechnology to combat the spread of the disease? If so, how?
Discuss the most common treatments for your selected infection.
Please include any interesting information you may have found in your research.
Be sure to add at least one reference (using APA) which exemplifies where you learned about the material.
At least 200 words, try not to exceed 300 words.
