1. Konjungsi Koordinatif
Konjungsi koordinatif adalah kata penghubung yang digunakan untuk mengaitkan antara dua klausa yang memiliki kedudukan yang sama atau setara. Konjungsi jenis ini umumnya tidak bisa digunakan di depan kalimat. Contoh kata konjungsi koordinatif adalah:

Contoh kalimat konjungsi intra kalimat:
Ayah sedang pergi bekerja

2. Konjungsi Subordinatif
Konjungsi subordinatif adalah kata penghubung yang digunakan untuk mengaitkan antara dua klausa atau lebih yang kedudukannya tidak setara. Konjungsi ini digunakan untuk menghubungkan kalimat bertingkat antara induk kalimat dengan anak kalimat.
Waktu: ketika, sejak, tatkala, sementara, sambil, sembari, setelah, sebelum, usai, sesudah.
Syarat: jika, asal, bila, apabila, jikalau.
Pengandaian: andai, seandainya, seumpama
Tujuan: Agar, supaya, biar, guna
Atributif : yang
Sebab: karena, sebab, pasalnya, oleh karena, oleh sebab
Hasil: sampai, hingga, sehingga
Komplementasi: bahwa
Alat dan cara: dengan, tanpa
Konsesif: biarpun, walaupun, sekalipun
Pembanding: seperti, laksana, bak, alih-alih, daripada, sebagai, seolah-olah, seakan-akan
Contoh kalimat konjungsi subordinatif:
Dia datang
Gurunya pergi ke kamar mandi
= Dia datang sejak gurunya pergi ke kamar mandi.
Tim itu akan menang
Sang pemain andalan tidak cedera
= Tim itu akan menang jika sang pemain andalan tidak cedera.
3. Konjungsi Korelatif
Konjungsi korelatif adalah kata penghubung yang digunakan untuk menggabungkan dua atau lebih kata, klausa, atau frasa dimana kedua kata yang dihubungkan sama-sama subjek. Konjungsi pada jenis ini digunakan di depan kalimat dan di tengah kalimat sehingga kalimat saling berhubungan. Contoh konjungsi korelatif:
Baik … maupun
Tidak hanya … tetapi
Entah …. Entah
Jangankan ….., …. Pun
Tidak hanya…., bahkan
Contoh kalimat konjungsi korelatif:
Baik ibunya maupun ayahnya tidak pernah absen untuk mengantarkannya ke sekolah.
Jangankan datang, merespons pun tidak.
4. Konjungsi Antar Kalimat
Konjungsi antarkalimat adalah kata penghubung yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan dua atau lebih kalimat. Konjungsi ini juga digunakan untuk memberikan makna terhadap kalimat sebelumnya untuk melanjutkan ke kalimat selanjutnya agar lebih runut. Contohnya:
Konsekuensi: akibatnya, dengan demikian, oleh sebab itu
Keadaan sebenarnya: sejatinya, sebenarnya, sesungguhnya, bahwasanya
Keadaan sebelumnya: bahkan, malah
Keadaan setelahnya: selanjutnya, setelah itu, kemudian
Kebalikan: berbeda dengan, sebaliknya
Menentang: akan tetapi, namun, sayangnya
Kesediaan: biarpun, meskipun, walaupun,
Contoh kalimat konjungsi antar kalimat:

5. Konjungsi Antar Paragraf
Konjungsi antar paragraf digunakan untuk mengawali suatu paragraf untuk menghubungkan dengan paragraf sebelumnya. Contoh penghubung antar paragraf:
Oleh karena itu
Oleh sebab itu
Di sisi lain
Berdasarkan
Dan lain sebagainya.
Contoh konjungsi antar paragraf:
Rina mendapatkan nilai yang bagus untuk mata pelajaran matematika. Hal itu dikarenakan ia belajar sangat giat belajar tiap malam. Bahkan, ia sampai lupa untuk makan seharian.
Oleh sebab itu, Rina justru harus dilarikan ke rumah sakit setelah ujian karena mengalami tifus. Padahal, dia harus menghadiri acara penghargaan yang diadakan oleh sekolah.
