These are my professors notes on the thesis:
I finished reading your draft and enjoyed it.
I think you write well. Below some feedback and questions that the second assessor can ask or raise:
references are missing or not frequently done. In some sections the text looks like an long essay without references. This might raise red flag as some readers might think that AI has been used in the thesis is sometimes. Make it more academic with many more academic and updated references. Do not separate sections.. Thesis should flow as one big text, not 3 different essays. Link each section to the previous and the next one. Ideas should flow organically, naturally and logically.
Having said that the CSR sections are a bit out of place. Even artificial. I don’t see any criticism or reflection. I don’t see much analysis. Try to develop a stronger argument: Why is CSR a useful principle for gender equality? Or vice versa? Right now the main argument is lost in many nice but generic paragraphs that everyone can find if they Google it.
Finally, the CSR should be linked to gender mainstreaming or equality better. Aren’t our current/existing other legislation not enough for issues related to gender (such as company law, social and economic rights, other texts that are about gender rights)? To put it in other words: Why do we need your thesis? What’s its added value? You should convince the reader better that this thesis is important, useful and relevant. Moreover this issue requires a critical analysis. Try to analyse it critically. Right now it is mostly informing the reader. Not analysing it.
Method section is not developed well. Try to improve it. What’s your method here? Case law, and academic literature analysis? Why not using report, interviews or media for instance? How will you choose your literature?
Please use references that are more recent, reference Oscola style as well
Some of the sentences/paragraphs do not make sense. Rewrite these.

The author begins Chapter 16 by stating, “This chapter examines the legal relationships of parents and children when children are born outside of marriage or when parentage is unclear or disputed. Because this is a rapidly changing area of the law, this chapter explores the past, present, and possible future of the law of parentage.”
For this discussion board, I would like to discuss a present law and issue and a future law and issue.
The present law that I would like you to discuss is the presumption of the father and adjudication of parentage claim in Texas.
For this discussion review the following:
https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/FA/htm/FA.160.htm
https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/FA/htm/FA.160.htm
(case pdf atttatched)

After you have read the statutes and the case, address the following:
What is was your opinion of the four year statute of limitation on challenging parentage after the presumption of the father has been established.
Do you think it is fair for a father to continue to support a child that he finds out is not his if misses the limitation period? Explain your answer.
Do you think it is fair for a mother to share custody of her child with a father she finds is not biologically his? Explain your answer.
What does the court hold in this case?
What is your opinion of their decision?
Provide a substantive summary of some positives and negatives of these statutes on parents and children.
What does the appellate court say about the trial court’s discretion in determining law?
What burden of proof did Rebekah have to meet to satisfy the exception to the four-year limitation?
What did the appellate court say about her meeting this burden?
Finally, what was your overall opinion of this case and ruling?

5. Nigel wants to rob a security van. He phones his friend Omar, asking if he ‘wants in on the job for half of the money’. Omar is shocked at the suggestion and puts the phone down.
Nigel then turns to his wife Pauline, who agrees to be part of the plan. Pauline is however scared of her husband and only intends to drive him to the chosen location, and then play no further part in the robbery.
Later that day, Pauline drops Nigel off opposite a shop where the security firm makes deliveries. Nigel watches the van arrive from a safe distance and then starts to cross the road towards the van. As he does so the police arrive and arrest him. Unknown to Nigel, Omar had reported the planned robbery after receiving his call.
Discuss the criminal liability, if any, of the parties involved in this scenario

In this assignment, you will find a case law using legal databases, distill a legal judgment down to its key components, critically analyze the court’s decision, and concisely convey this information in a case brief. You will do the following to complete this assignment:
Find an appellate tort or contract case from the past five years (or so) using a legal database.
Identify the essential elements of the case: the facts, judicial history, legal issues, holding, legal reasoning, and any dissenting opinion(s).
“Note up” the case to see if other decisions have affirmed, distinguished, followed, or overruled the decision**.
Critically analyze the persuasiveness of the court’s opinion and state your conclusion as to whether you would rule the same way if you were hearing this case.
Prepare a case brief succinctly conveying this information. Your case brief should follow the conventional legal format (maximum 800 words). Ensure you cite the case properly.
Submit via the assignment drop box on Moodle.
**If you are not familiar with case briefs it will be a new concept for you. It basically asks if the case is still relevant. For instance, has it been affirmed, used as precedence, been overturned, etc…
Here’s a useful link from Bora Laskin Law Library at U of T that explains it well.

Please keep in mind if the case you’ve selected does not lend itself to this aspect of the assignment it’s likely not the best case to use.

USED ATTACHED TRADE LOG
Started with a red paperclip
Note the word count at the beginning of this section. Any words that exceed 1000 will not be read or considered when grading your answer.
1. How did the understanding of the interests of the other party aid in moving negotiations forward? Please be sure to include one or more illustrations from your trades.
2. How did your understanding of trades based on you gaining an item that is worth more to you than the other party (trading based on valuing the same item differently) aid in moving negotiations forward? Please be sure to include one or more illustrations from your trades.
3. How did your BATNA affect the outcome across your negotiations? Please be sure to include one or more illustrations from your trades.
You will recall that your BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement) is what happens if you do NOT complete your trade. Your BATNA affects your bargaining power. Your power is based on whether you have a better alternative than the trade under consideration.
Your BATNA is NOT the value of your item. The value of your item is relevant only when figuring out your BATNA. For example, if the item you have is worth $50, you should trade for something that is worth more than $50 on the assumption that you can get something worth $50 by turning to your BATNA and making an even trade.
Your BATNA focuses on whether you can get a better deal elsewhere. If you cannot, you have a weak BATNA and have little bargaining power. If you can do better elsewhere, you have some leverage to ask for more from the person you are negotiating with because if you cannot get it, you can resort to your BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement).
Based on this negotiation experience, which techniques were the most effective ones to use and that you are likely to use in future negotiations? Please be sure to include two to three illustrations from your trades.
4. Identify effective techniques used in these negotiations which you will incorporate in your future negotiation. You must include a minimum of two concrete examples from your trades.
