 According to the text, a significant amount of revenue that the health care industry generates can be linked directly to the care that physicians provide for their patients. In addition, physicians in a medical practice add to this revenue stream by admitting patients to a hospital, prescribing prescription medication, ordering home health services and medical equipment, and referring their patients to other health care providers for care and treatment. 
 This is Part 3 in the development of the operations plan to guide you in managing the practice and leading the staff.

 On a local, state, and federal level, programs and services are available for those in later adulthood. What supports are available in your local community for individuals 65 years of age and above? Do you see any gaps in services? Given we are now living longer, do you believe the current array of resources is adequate to meet the growing need of those in this age group? 

 Burnout and compassion fatigue are common concerns in the helping professions that can be tied to a number of factors. Think about working in this field—this can include past or present experiences—and discuss the environmental issues that can cause burnout or compassion fatigue (i.e., managerial style, culture/climate, physical environment, client issues, colleagues, etc.). After explaining the challenges of 2-3 factors, make some suggestions to improve those factors, the organizational climate, and ultimately reduce the likelihood of burnout or compassion fatigue. 

 
Change is something that is part of everyday life in our dynamic 21st-century global business environment. Managers play a pivotal role in leading change. If change is such a norm in our business environment today, why is organizational change so complicated? Why do people resist change? Of the five elements required for successful change (which we covered in Chapter 11), which element do you think managers are most likely to overlook? Explain.
