Begin the reflection paper by placing the document in its proper historical context (this may require that you do further research beyond the document.) 2. Make clear the importance of the document (why should the reader care about this particular document? Why is it important?) 3. Identify a theme you wish to provide an analysis of within the document (this can be gender, capitalism, race/racism, institutional racism, etc–we have covered several topics and themes in the course which should help you to identify a theme; whatever theme you decide to highlight, it should be equally compelling as the importance of the document; you want to keep your reading audience engaged). 4. After identifying the importance of the document and the theme you will be highlighting from the document, provide a clear thesis statement (i.e. this paper argues, this paper advances, this paper engages, etc). 5. Carefully and thoughtfully provide an analysis of your selected theme–giving careful attention to why this specific analytical point is important and how it connects back to your thesis (it will definitely be helpful to use quotes from your source, as well as class materials). 6. You must place your document/theme/analysis in conversation with at least one source from class that is NOT from the Freedom on My Mind text. 7. End the paper connecting your analysis/theme in a clear manner to contemporary times and providing any additional thoughts/insights/important points you believe your reader should be aware of. 8. Bullying often occurs in organizations and, in some cases, can go unchecked. A properly prepared organization works proactively to prevent bullying by having the proper training and policies in place. Even so, bullying may occur in an organization from time to time. During this assignment, operate from a management lens and address a bullying incident that occurred in a real organization. Research a bullying incident in an actual organization to complete the assignment.
This assignment consists of two parts. For the first part of this assignment, you will need to craft a memo that addresses the organizational response to bullying. The second portion requires you to elucidate three ways that would sufficiently and successfully communicate the memo to the organization.
Part 1: The Memo
For the first part of the assignment,
Create an organizational response that addresses the bullying incident in the workplace.
Identify how it will be addressed, mitigated and prevented.

Week 6 – Final Project

For this final video presentation, you will use the following scenario: Your company is rolling out a new technology platform or software program for global communications and operations in your organization. You are an upper-level manager who needs to send a communique out to mid-level managers who are to disseminate the information to their teams. You want to ensure that you communicate proper expectations to the managers for them to deliver to their team. You, as the upper-level manager, should model the behavior for the mid-level managers to follow.
You have two technology platform options from which to select.
Option 1: Meeting Management Software. This option gives you the opportunity to use any meetings software platform or software that your organization currently uses or has used in the past. Identify a platform or software technology that is being retired as well as the new technology that is being rolled out.
Option 2: If your technology is proprietary, or if you have no experience with communications and data management technology, pick two of the following communication platforms to research and compare: Skype, Zoom, Adobe Connect, WebEx. Identify which of the platforms is the currently used technology that is being retired and which is the new platform being rolled out.

You have to answer the discussion question and engage with the paragraph provided. Be specific and identify key themes and use evidence from the novel, which you will find attached. You only need to focus from page 130 to 253.
1. Is there an ideal way a U.S. oil company could work with another country and its citizens? What guidelines would you set for such an arrangement?
2. Personally, metaphors and reading between the lines resonates with me the most when reading. So, as we discuss memory, who gets to (re)member, and slow violence in the context of How Beautiful We Were and the course content at large- what resonated with me was my interpretation of an extremely delicate narrative. Between pages 248 and 251, a story of a devastating sexual assault was told, and the lasting impacts of that sexual assault were described. In the text, a young boy is assaulted by his uncle who is a prominent figure in the town; therefore, his story is kept hidden from the public for the protection of the uncle. A quote from this section that relates to slow violence and colonialism is on page 250, which states, “Your husband’s sister told you to wipe your eyes, show them that you were a strong boy. Look at your body, your sister’s husband said, did the uncle leave any scars? You shook your head. So there’s nothing for you to dwell on, then, your sister said. As soon as you let go of the whole episode, there would be nothing worth talking about”(Mbue, 250). This quote serves as a greater metaphor for who gets to (re)member such violence under the oppressive forces of colonialism. Last class, we discussed slow violence from a physical perspective and from a psychological perspective. Here, the boy faced slow violence as his story was silenced. It can be metaphorically compared that the sister and her husband are the colonial powers and the boy is the African continent- silenced under power dynamics and memories lost.
