Assume you are asked to develop a plan to provide more services in your current market, provide new services to your existing patients, or begin operations in a new market.  You will need to collect and analyze data on current utilization and the need for more services in the current and/or new markets to determine how many additional services could be produced, the additional revenues that will be earned, and the cost of additional labor supplies, equipment, and facilities.
A business plan is a document typically prepared to obtain funding and/or financing.
You will be using the four major elements: an executive summary, a description of the company or department, a marketing plan; and financial projections.
The overall business plan is built up as these individual segments are completed.
FINAL GROUP PROJECT DELIVERABLE INSTRUCTIONS:
For this group assignment, you will create a formal PowerPoint (PPT) about your fictional Healthcare Business.  You are preparing a presentation for your executive leadership team. The business plan must be related to the healthcare field (e.g., a doctor’s office, a home healthcare practice, a new hospital, etc.). This assignment is worth 200 points.
A business plan’s FINANCIAL PLAN includes a current and pro forma balance sheet, an income statement, and a cash flow analysis. It allows leaders to make appropriate resource allocations, handle unforeseen complications, and make efficient, logical, evidence-based decisions. Because it provides specific and organized information about your company and how you will repay borrowed money, a good business plan is a crucial part of any loan package. Additionally, it can inform sales personnel, suppliers and others about your operations and goals. Your business plan should precisely define your business and identify your goals. It serves as your company’s resume (see course text Chapter 25).
Use the following questions below as a template and answer all questions. This presentation requires correct grammar, punctuation, and APA format, including in-text citation and reference list. This assignment is worth 200 points and is a GROUP project (same grade for all group participants). Points are for thorough content, creativity in the formal PPT and correct use of APA format. You are required to have a minimum of three (3) references and your references must from any combination of refereed peer reviewed journal articles, textbooks, and or credible Internet sources.

Do not wait to begin working on your business plan, as it will take some time to complete and requires review by the FIU writing center (appointments fill up VERY quickly).

The executive summary should contain a well-written and concise summary of the entire plan: Concise summary AND SWOT analysis
Organizational Plan:
Describe your business. Name it. Describe your idea; purpose, mission, vision, background information, and description of the product and or service. The business must be related to the healthcare field (e.g., a doctor’s office, a home healthcare practice, a new hospital, etc.)
Physical location where service and/or equipment that will be provided
The department responsible for the budget
The division responsible for operations
The directly responsible supervisor
Composition of the overall management team
Marketing Plan (see Exhibit 25-3):
Healthcare providers who will use the service or equipment
New and/or established patients who will use the service or equipment
Estimated portion of the market to be captured
Competition and its impact
Financial Plan (Fictional, REVIEW PAGES 338-339)
The financial analysis for a business plan should contain a forecast of operations. 
This section should contain the numbers that illustrate how the service is expected to operate over an initial period of time (based on the requirements of your fictional organization).
It’s possible your financial plan will at minimum have a cash flow statement and could possibly also require a balance sheet and an income statement. 
TEAM RECOMMENDATIONS
After your review of your fictitious (or real) entity, what are your thoughts?  What is the financial health of this entity?  What information would have been nice to further understand?
Any commentary or “a ha” moments did you have?

4. The references used for each issue(s)/question(s) shall follow each narrative before proceeding to the next issue(s)/question(s), if any.
5. At least three (3) “External Authoritative Sources” are required in addition to the textbook and case for maximum points on EACH issue/question.
    5.1 Each paragraph and each substantive issue addressed in an answer must have at least one “External Authoritative Sources” cited (not including the text book or case).
    5.2 It is unacceptable to have any paragraph(s) or issue(s) with zero sources cited and then have one paragraph or issue to contain all three “external authoritative sources” and the text book.

8. The text book and case study must be cited just like any other source. It is not permissible to write “In the text book…” or In the case study…” unless the proper APA Style citation is found at the end of the sentence.
9. Any direct quote in the narrative must include the page or paragraph number in the citation.
10. It is improper to place a citation/source at the end of a paragraph if material from the source appears before the last sentence in the paragraph.
11. It is improper to place a citation in the middle of a sentence. One can lead with the source in the sentence but cannot use a citation within parenthesis except at the end of the sentence.

Research the effects of maltreatment on young children and their brain development.
Read the article, Understand the Effects of Maltreatment on Brain Development, (2015). It contains four sections. Carefully read Section 1:  How the Brain Develops and Section 2:  Effects of Maltreatment on Brain Development.
Submit a concise summary of the information that could be shared with parents, guardians, and/or caregivers.
Clearly demonstrate your knowledge and understanding on the subject (30 points) with a minimum of 500 words (10 points). Type your response in a Word document using an easily readable font and type size such as Times New Roman 12. Format, neatness, spelling and grammar are part of your grade (5 points). Include at least one quote and use APA citations and references (5 points).

    3.1 Each student shall find, read and review two (2) “External Authoritative Sources” (defined below), discussing  the changed environment between pharmaceutical companies and medical providers concerning gifts.
    3.2 Provide a separate paragraph narrative for each of the two (2) required  “External Authoritative Sources”
      3.2.1 Each source shall be substantively cited in a narrative paragraph using proper APA style
      3.2.2 Following each narrative paragraph full and complete reference for the source is required
      3.2.3 A link to the full article for each of the two(2) required external authoritative sources is required immediately following each reference
    3.3 Points will be lost if the reference(s) for the first source does not follow the brief paragraph narrative substantively citing the first source along with the link. Then the second source narrative shall be presented also with proper citation(s), reference and link.
