Instructions
This practice quiz is to help you familiarize yourself with the format of our Midterm. There is a separate document with Midterm Practice Problems Download Midterm Practice Problems.
You will see one question at a time and cannot go back to a previous question.
You will need the following:
A blank sheet of paper on which you will record your work. Note: you only need to record your work if you see the following note on the question: Show your calculations for full credit. – On your sheet of paper write the letter [X] next to this work. The [X] will be replaced with a different letter for each question. The letters may not be in order, which is fine- just record the letter that is stated in the problem.
If you do not show your work when requested, then you will not receive full credit even if the answer is correct.
A calculator.
A scratch sheet of paper for measuring map scale with a graphic scale.

Perhaps you have never considered the phrase ” Well at least it is a dry heat”.

Perhaps you have never considered the phrase ” Well at least it is a dry heat”. I used to hear this all the time while going to school at the University of Arizona in Tucson. It was meant to make someone feel better when experiencing temperatures over 100° F. In other words, it could be a lot worse- it could be humid as well as hot! Consider how humidity varies across Earth’s surface. Would you like to live in a place with warm temperatures and high humidity ? If so, where would you live? If you prefer warm temperatures and low humidity, where would you live? This lab is designed to help you understand the relationship between water vapor content, temperature and humidity.
Objectives:
Calculate relative humidity
Find relative humidity using sling psychrometer
Determine dew point temperature based on water vapor content

What to include (Assignment, Circular Economy Product Comparisons):
Format your document as a short essay, with brief Introduction and Conclusion sections. Read through some of your classmates’ assignments on the Discussion Forum (for product types in categories other than the one that you chose). Try to spot some patterns. (For example, you might notice that a couple of people are mentioning the damage caused by a particular type of agriculture.)
Come up with FOUR different suggestions for making a more circular economy, based on thinking about the impacts described by your classmates, and assess how effective and practical you feel your suggestions would be in real life. (It’s okay to be critical of your own ideas.) Remember to cite the assignments you’re using, and any other sources that you may be referring to.
So if someone (classmate) mentions the problems caused by the discarding of their chosen product, and you decide that recycling would be a good idea, think about whether this would work in terms of collection, processing, people’s willingness to support this, etc. Do you think this is do-able or might there be problems with organization and effectiveness, or cost, given what we know about other types of recycling? Do you think there are ways to improve your suggestion? Aim for a maximum of THREE double-spaced pages of text (approximately 900 words), aside from references.
I chose the topic of clothing/footwear (t-shirt, denim etc) who my classmates written. I have attached an essay written by my classmates below. Read the assignments of my classmates who wrote, and write about what I think about their arguments and possibly the other four proposals (about making a more circular economy) *It is based on thinking about the impacts described by my classmates’ assignment
You can refer to all three assignments I attached below, or just one.
Referenced assignments must be written in the reference list, and materials referenced from other sites also be included in the reference list.
Thanks for your helping:)

Submit Lab Five
This lab is designed to introduce you to the complex relation between the Earth and Sun. The geometry between the Earth and the Sun changes as the Earth orbits the sun, this coupled with the fact that the Earth is tilted relative to the plane of ecliptic and the rotational axis is always pointed to Polaris.
Objectives:
Identify Earth-Sun Relations during solstices & equinoxes.
Diagram vertical and tangent rays for given day.
Identify seasonal variations in solar declination and length of day.
Explore the relationship between intensity of radiation and solar altitude.
Use a Length of Daylight chart to determine maximum and minimum day lengths for various cities.
Use an Analemma to determine solar altitude for any given location and to determine the declination of the Sun for any given day.
Calculate the solar altitude of Santiago Canyon College on solstices, equinoxes, and selected additional days.

This lab is designed to introduce you to the number of factors that influence temperature at Earth’s surface. First we will begin by studying how the amount of insolation received at the Earth’s surface varies from place to place. The variation of insolation leads to variations in temperature. Other factors, such as, land-water contrasts, ocean currents, and wind patterns and air masses also influence temperatures. In addition, we will explore how altitude affects temperatures.
Objectives:
Measure surface variation in temperature
Construct a temperature graph
Calculate temperature range
Calculate average annual temperature
Identify global temperature patterns and to explore the reasons for these patterns.
Calculate the Average Lapse Rate

Overview
I hope you are starting to see how the concepts covered in physical geography are found everywhere. With this end in mind, please post one of the following:
Post:Take a picture of something you encounter in your life which represents one aspect of Lab 5 or 6.For example:Take a picture of a low albedo surface or a high albedo surface
Take a picture of a surface that is really hot during the day or cool during the day.
Under the picture, explain how it relates to Lab 5 or 6.
You will not be able to see your classmates submission until after you submit an image. The images must be embedded. Please review the instructions for inserting a picture into our discussion.
Replies:As you review the submissions, considerA) one idea or connection that you found particularly interesting or surprising
B) one question you have that would push your classmate’s thinking further.
This discussion is worth 5 points and will be scored as follows:
Complete (5 Points): Initial submission pertained to this discussion topic and reply was insightful and/or helpful. Both were submitted on time.
Incomplete (2.5 Points): Submissions were late, reply or submission missing, did not pertain to this discussion topic or were very brief
