Introduction to the Assignment: For this project, you will argue a position by providing reasons and evidence for your position. The purpose of this assignment is to argue an issue that is likely to affect your audience of your peers and community members. Selecting a relevant topic ensures that you can build common ground with your audience and more effectively establish pathos.
You will need to be able to write about this topic from a personal perspective. If you are already intending on relying on research, your argument will fail. Arguments rely upon personal reasoning and not facts. Evidence is the factual content, so the majority of the essay will be what you think. If your essay sounds like what Claude/ChatGPT thinks—you can imagine how that will go.
Your purpose is to argue your perspective: how should AI be used in your field, if at all? Again, remember that your goal is to argue what you think.
(I want to argue that AI should be used in my field as a Physician Assistant)
Come up with a good title for the essay.
Genre Basics: Arguing a position requires you to use logos (well-explained reasoning and evidence). You should also provide background information and appeals to ethos and pathos. To craft a well-rounded argument, you need to consider other positions in a counterargument paragraph. Be clear about what specific response you want readers to have to your argument by crafting a thoughtful and engaging introduction and conclusion. This is often called the “call to action.”
It needs to include an Introduction, 3 body paragraphs for each source I’ll share, a counterargument paragraph, and finally a conclusion.
Requirements:
1.1500 words at the bare minimum. You should explain ideas in depth. Word counts are a minimum requirement.
2. Original and convincing reasoning (based on your perception). You will need to use strategies presented in Chapter 19.
3. Smoothly integrate and cite sources within body paragraphs; the source information should support your reasoning within each paragraph. Ensure that your sources are credible. Unreliable sources will not count and will affect your ethos as a writer.
Three credible sources need to be used as evidence in the essay. You can use more sources.
4. Remember that reasonable argumentation requires you to acknowledge alternate viewpoints (a counterargument).
5. MLA formatting.
6. Remember conventional essay formatting: introduction, body paragraphs that coherently transition from one idea to the next, a counterargument paragraph, and a conclusion.
I added a file with all the information and the sources! For source 3, I added the entire source since I wasn’t sure if the website would work!
Please try not to use any type of AI!!
Thank you!!

Instructions: Please rewrite this paper provided to the point where you clarify the concept of “tech-savvy people” by specifying a certain group or type of user, as well as adding some context about why this is happening (e.g., privacy concerns, platform alternatives, etc.). Here’s how you can refine it:
Clarify the Population: Instead of using a vague term like “tech-savvy people,” you could specify the type of users (e.g., young professionals, developers, digital marketers, etc.).
Narrow the Reasoning: Rather than asking “why” in a broad sense, focus on specific factors driving this shift, such as privacy concerns, changes in user experience, or the rise of alternative platforms.
Simplify the Language: Use concise language to make the question more straightforward.
Here’s a more refined and simplified version:
“What factors are driving tech professionals to leave Facebook?”
Alternatively, if you want to focus on a particular aspect of the issue, you could specify:
“How are privacy concerns influencing tech-savvy users to leave Facebook?”
Both versions are more focused and clearer, allowing you to explore specific reasons behind the trend.

Opioid Crisis
Write a paper on an aspect of your choice with regard to the current opioid crisis in the United States.
You might consider the following issues: deaths of despair, the overdose epidemic, synthetic opioids (Oxycontin, Vicodin, Percocet, Subsys, fentanyl, nitazenes), drug companies (Purdue Pharma, Insys, McKesson), drug executives (John Kapoor, the Sackler family), drug companies’ lobbying of the government against regulation of opioids, the Opium Wars of 1839-42 and 1856-60 and China’s role in the manufacture and distribution of fentanyl in the U.S., former FDA officials working later for the drug companies they used to regulate, the role of Mexican cartels in the manufacture of illegal drugs, gender differences in opioid overdoses, new addiction treatments, geographic differences in overdoses, economic downturns and overdoses, the incentives to doctors to prescribe opioids, the role of pharmacies and doctors in the opioid crisis, the mental health crisis and overdoses, and racial differences and overdoses.
The choice is yours (and you are allowed to combine some of the topics above) but make sure your paper is unified and that all your body paragraphs are clearly supporting your chosen thesis. For instance, I would consider writing about the healthcare system’s role in the opioid epidemic (for that I would focus on the drug companies [introduction] and their relationship with doctors [body paragraph 1] and pharmacies [body paragraph 2] to increase their profits [body paragraph 3] while ignoring the effects of addiction [body paragraph 4] to their drugs among the American populace [conclusion]).
You are required to cite at least 3 sources, listed at the end of your paper in a References list.
As always, you can get an “A” on this assignment only if you cite two pieces of evidence in every one of your body paragraphs.

Major Persuasive/Argumentative Essay
In the documentary “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price,” the filmmakers present
two perspectives regarding Wal-Mart. First, Wal-Mart executives claim that the retail
chain provides stable jobs in a family friendly atmosphere while helping local
communities and offering affordable products.
On the other hand, however, many economists, as well as communities, argue that the
retail giant is hurting the economy by putting local shop keepers out of business by
purchasing foreign-made products, and by exploiting overseas workers and store
employees.
In a 3-4 page well-developed 5-Paragraph essay (Introduction with thesis statement, a
minimum of three body paragraphs, and conclusion), take a position on the question: “Is
Wal-Mart Good for America?” and write a “persuasive” paper addressed to the public
detailing how the company is either “good” or “bad” for America.
This essay must incorporate a minimum of “2-3” secondary “scholarly” sources, follow
proper essay structure, and exhibit proper MLA format for formal essays including
proper in-text citations, parenthetical notes, and a works cited page.
