In this 8-10-page paper, you will explore emerging themes in the field of educational technology and elucidate educator perspectives in order to project future directions while grappling with several current issues facing the field.
By asking leaders in the field of educational technology, the Horizon Report conducts annual research to gauge future developments for technologies, project those that will likely impact teaching and learning, and determine when these are likely to be adopted for use in classrooms.
Using your textbook, recent editions of the Horizon Report, information gleaned from Gartner’s Hype cycle, and recent scholarly literature you will map the current landscape, look into the future, and predict three trends that are likely to have significant impact and what these trends will likely mean for teachers and for students.
The paper must be supported by at least 10 scholarly sources in addition to the textbook. Sources should be within 5 years. The paper must be submitted as a Word document in APA format.

The first decision student will make is the them or concept that ties the activity together to be shared with families. The instructor encourage students to choose a them/concept that aligns to current curriculum offered in the field setting. some suggestions for concepts are:

(for example, children can do and learn so much more with real, but broken, telephone than with a toy telephone.) As you examine materials, think about different ways that children could utilize these items. Do they promote movement? Conversation? Imaginative or role play? Be sure to consider the content areas that these items touch upon and include resources which are inclusive of the following domains:

For the problem statement you have developed for a quantitative study, specify the population and sample and the permissions you will need to conduct the study. What kind of quantitative data would you collect – would you create your own instrument, or is there one out there to use? Recalling that a system provides the results it was designed to provide, a performance gap usually indicates something needs to change. Such a gap, if considered important by others as well, can result in a tension that begs to be addressed and potentially resolved. Creative tension has the power to stimulate creative solutions, which would also be an example of co-creating a better future. In this seminar, our main focus will be the “Truth, Transformation, and Testimony Models”, “Worldview Model”, and “John the Baptist Model” and its application in teaching students with exceptionalities. As you advance through the special education program, you’ll have the chance to reflect on all of the Biblical Integration Education Models. Make sure to keep this textbook handy for future reference and use!

Purpose
There is much controversy surrounding the subject of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Because the spectrum encompasses such a wide range of symptoms and abilities, and because clear answers about the causes and best treatments are still lacking, disagreements among people in the autism community sometimes run deep. In addition, there are many misconceptions about autism presented in a variety of popular media and even in research literature. The purpose of this research paper is to delve deeper into the research literature to explore an area of interest pertaining to a current topic about autism and to provide discussion for both sides of the argument using relevant research and credible sources to provide a clearer understanding for opposing viewpoints.
Deliverable
The deliverable for this assignment is a 4-6 page research paper on your choice of a current topic about ASD. You should write a concise 4-6 page paper, not including the cover and reference pages. You will present a well-researched and supported argument for opposing viewpoints on a controversial topic about ASD. Each viewpoint will be presented without bias, citing sources to support the perspective. You will then take a position supporting one of the two viewpoints, providing at least 2-3 reasons that you support that position, and cite relevant resources for your claims.
Please note that some of these viewpoints may not be supported by scientific evidence. However, understanding why some of these viewpoints develop and persist without that evidence can support the work we do in the field, in terms of collaboration, consultation and supporting various stakeholders.
Activity Details
Step 1: Select a topic area to research and due date for paper submission. Students will select their topic and due date for submission during Module 1. Students will have staggered due dates across Modules 4-7. A list of possible topics is included at the end of this document to provide an idea of themes that can be researched. In addition, you may also select a topic not on the list. You will sign up for a topic in Module 1 using the Google Form under the ‘Sign Up for Controversial Topics About Autism Research Paper Topic page.
Step 2: Write your research paper. As you prepare the paper, you should incorporate information from multiple research literature sources, as well as the course materials (if applicable to your topic). The paper should not exceed 6 double-spaced pages (not including the cover page or references) and is to be written following the APA-7 style guide. Please use professional, “scientific” writing (third person language) to report on the literature and sources that have been found.
To organize the paper, use the scoring grid below, which outlines each of the essential components to be included.
Step 3: Save and submit the Research Paper. Once the assignment is complete, you should save a copy for yourself in an easily accessible place and submit the assignment to your group co-instructor in Canvas.
