CAREER RESEARCH PAPER The goals of this assignment are to help you: Become more knowledgeable about finding and using varied research sources in your major and your career choice. Further develop your critical thinking skills and your ability to back up your points with evidence. Become more adept at synthesizing information and developing informed views. Learn to follow a scholarly research format to document in-text sources and design a reference page (bibliography). Compose a well organized, clear, concise, research paper to expand your knowledge on your major and career. Approach: In this paper, you do not need to solve a problem or necessarily reach a conclusion. Instead, demonstrate that you can gather information on a particular subject, narrow it down to a particular focus, synthesize the information and make some scholarly, astute interpretations about the topic. A significant part of the paper should be your interpretation of the information and how your knowledge about the subject has been enriched. Please do not simply regurgitate the information you found. Sources: Your paper will not be substantive unless you have substantive sources. Find 3 to 5 VARIED and CURRENT SOURCES (not all Internet sites, for example) including professional journal articles and professional publications, Internet sources, and possibly (but not required) an interview. It is important to find sources that you can understand, relate to where you are in your major and career, and also challenge you intellectually. Individually, you are expected to choose a specific ESL/EFL teaching/learning context with a specific learner population and specify
relevant teaching/learning objectives. Then, develop a lesson plan that targets reading skills with special attention to subskills and
design relevant materials and resources. You are expected to specify and describe in detail the language teaching/learning context
and the learners for which the lesson plan is designed, the pedagogical and learning objectives/ outcomes it targets and serves, and
how your approach will help you and the students fulfill those objectives/ outcomes. In light of and with reference to your course
readings, you are expected to write your rationale in which you explain how you would implement the plan step by step,
rationalizing your approach and examining its potential and/or limitations. Note that you should include references discussed in class
