For this paper you are being asked to write about a flawed Criminal Justice Pol

For this paper you are being asked to write about a flawed Criminal Justice Policy. To do so, the paper should comprise 3 sections:
Section 1: A history of the policy and what the policy was intended to do and what impacts it intended to have. This should include a discussion of the problem the policy was intended to address, as well as (where applicable) relevant laws or statutes and court decisions related to the policy.
Section 2: A discussion, based in empirical research, regarding why the policy is flawed (i.e. doesn’t produce its intended effects, or may even create unintended ones). This should draw on relevant academic research on the policy and synthesize that research literature in a clear way.
Section 3: Suggestions for improving the policy (if any) or an argument to remove/abolish the policy. These suggestions can certainly come from experts and from the research literature (you don’t have to come up with them on your own)

– The paper should be approximately 10-12 pages, although this is just a ballpark and longer or shorter papers are acceptable.
