If you cannot see where you are going, ask someone who has been there before. J Loren Norris
Over the last 8 weeks, you have (hopefully) learned a lot about yourself and about how grit and wellness relate to growth and success. Last week, you found a mentor to help you as you complete this course and as you move forward with your personal and professional life journey.
This week, you will investigate your leadership style and learn more about managing your career. In today’s society, ethical, respectful leadership can be hard to find. Yet, as you will learn when you take the Kirkpatrick Signature Series (the capstone of general education at Bellevue University), if we hope to live and work in a healthy, civil society, we need more people who are willing and able to lead in their families, at work, and in society. After studying the material for the week, you will schedule a meeting with your mentor to talk about leadership and career management and share what you learn with your colleagues in class.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this week, you should be able to
Discuss your leadership style.
Explain the importance of individual leadership in the workplace and society
Articulate areas of career growth and career management.
Too often, when we think about leadership, we think of leadership in terms of assigned roles or power. Leadership comes in all kinds of forms, and part of success is seeing where and how you lead now. In the videos for the week, you will learn about everyday leadership. These talks will help you to see and appreciate how you lead now.
