Introduction
This week you have explored employee motivation and the different aspects that contribute to an employee’s level of motivation. Since each employee has a unique story, it is important to get to know the individual and understand what motivates him/her to not only be productive but also to stay committed to the organization. This commitment usually comes in the form of loyalty and longevity in the organization which ultimately reduces training and development costs and retains a lot of tacit knowledge that can be passed throughout the organization. Now that you have a sensitivity to the individual side of motivation and an understanding that we all may be motivated by different incentives or benefits, it is time to practice this concept by engaging in an application activity that really presents a dilemma to you as a manager in the organization. It is annual review time and you are in charge of rewarding employees. Keep in mind all those motivational theories you have just studied and complete the assignment for this week. Instructions
Assess each employee, the strengths and limitations, and finally how each person aligns with the organization and strategy (this can be hypothetical as you see it in this moment)
Decide who will be rewarded and for how much.
Support your decision and rationale with organization development concepts from this module.
Your assignment should be of minimum 2 pages, with double-spacing, 12-point font, and 1-inch margin on all sides.
It may be helpful to have an organization perspective and write the paper as if you were presenting your annual reviews to a superior or the board of the company.
