COMPENSATION Basic Elements of a Useful Job Description Select a job that you are familiar with (e.g., Starbucks Barista, Loblaws Cashier, Aritzia Sales Representative). Complete the following: 1. Provide the job title and Company name. 2. Describe the method(s) of job analysis you would use to obtain information on the job. Explain why you chose the method(s). 3. Write a job description (referencing Compensation notebook 7.1, page 322). Note that this is NOT a job posting for recruitment purposes, but rather a job description that would be used for compensation and job evaluation (among other things). 4. Your job description should be detailed. For example, when writing the major duties for role, please also include how you would measure success – are there any KPI’s that you could use to measure success? Anything else?
