Course Description:
This course explores the fundamental factors involved in managing organizations in a business environment. It includes human resource and management topics such as planning, control and decision making, and traditional organizational behavior topics such as motivation, communication, leadership, conflict management, teams and corporate design and culture. Behavior is analyzed at three different levels: individual, group and organization. Individual behavior is discussed from the perspectives of learning, perception, attitudes, personality, stress, and motivation. Social behavior and organizational processes include group formation, structure and processes, leadership, communication, decision making, power, politics and conflict. Ethical issues for managers are identified and studied; the global context of business is emphasized as a central factor in leading organizations.
INDIVIDUAL project
¨ organizational behavior in your organization
1) Each student will write and submit an essay that describes an OB dilemma in your workplace, formulate questions, and answer them (you can make interviews, and collect data)
Essay due the day of Session 8 (DUE 2023.12.23)
5000-6000 words (1,5 space, 12 Times New Roman, excluding references), with at least 5 references
2) You will present your project
– Slides due the day of Session Session 8 (DUE 2023.12.23)
– Each student has about 5-8 minutes
– Submit the video link to your presentation
