PHAR 7352 Neuro/Psych Clinical Inquiry #2 Zedekaiah is a 60 year entrepreneur in the healthcare industry. He is a business man with an MBA and not a licensed healthcare professional. He has complaints of moderate tremor that sometimes interferes with daily activities. He is also nervous about the current state of the economy. Patient History: He has had Parkinson disease for 5 years now and takes Sinemet 25/100 1 tablet by mouth four times a day. He also takes rasagiline. He does not have any hallucinations or complications from these medications. He was started on sertraline 25 mg daily about a month ago for generalized anxiety disorder. He also has a multivitamin that he takes daily. Scenario: Zedakaiah is a regular in the pharmacy and he trusts you as the pharmacist to tell him the truth about his medications. He frequently comes in with questions. Today, he approaches you at the counter and he wants to ask your advice regarding medical marijuana,Parkinson’s and anxiety. His main purpose for using the medical marijuana would be for the anxiety but he wants to know if if would be helpful for his Parkinson disease as well.
