So far in this course, you have analyzed the many elements of differentiated instruction related to content, process, and product to support learner needs. In many ways, the elements of differentiation are also applicable when you apply for instructional jobs, and you must be able to differentiate your application materials to the needs of the hiring manager.
Just as you have created your Instructional Plan Template to be appropriate and meaningful for your particular instructional setting (e.g., K-12, higher education, etc.), you must also be able to market yourself as a candidate for jobs in that instructional setting in an appropriate and meaningful way. This is because the process for applying for jobs, and the application materials you will need to provide, will vary from one instructional setting to another. Job advertisements for instructor positions in higher education, for example, will likely require you to submit a curriculum vitae (CV), while job postings for a workforce development instructor will more likely require you to submit a resume. You will need to know how these two documents are different and which, if not both, you will need for your career goals.
