This week, you will develop a research-supported outline that provides a structure for your cause and effect argument. In addition, you should begin composing a draft of your cause and effect essay.
As is noted in our textbook and the Week 5 Lesson, there are three main ways to organize a cause and effect essay: effects of a cause, causes of an effect, or causal chain of events.
Here is an example of a research-supported outline. This one uses the causes of an effect approach. APA-style citations and a references list indicate where the information is derived from. Please follow this style in creating your own outline. Your own outline may be shorter than this example, but it should include the topic, introduction, body, conclusion, and references, along with sufficient detail to provide a solid organizational base for your essay.
