2. Read Applications…Online, Mobile, and Social Media Marketing: #MeToo (page 93) in your textbook and answer the following questions:
Many businesses have now crafted responses to the #MeToo movement. Research the issue and discuss how companies are communicating their positions to customers. What online or social media platforms are they using?
Is the #MeToo movement a marketing issue? How are customers likely to react to allegations of workplace harassment? How should companies deal with the issue, whether reactively or proactively?
3. Online marketing research seems to be the wave of the future. What drawbacks do you see associated with conducting surveys online? Are privacy issues greater with online surveys than with other forms of administering surveys, such as phone, face-to-face, or mail? Do you think respondents will be more or less honest and accurate when completing online surveys?
4. Imagine you own a pet grooming business. You want to use market research to identify how you can grow your business but you are on a limited budget. Review the marketing research techniques outlined in the chapter to determine which ones can be used for your small business. What information will you need and how will you obtain it?
