This assignment provides students the opportunity to conduct a STEEPLE [sociocultural, technological, economic, environmental, political, legal, and ethical boundaries] analysis of a major global health issue. The completed assignment will be a working outline for development of a possible health policy on the chosen global health issue topic that can be presented to a healthcare organization, professional nursing organization, policy action committee, or legislator.
Review the assignment guidelines and the grading rubric for required elements of the assignment.
Submit the completed assignment by 11:59 PM MT Sunday of Week 5.

1. Read/Review this information about policy position statement by Sigma Honor Society of Nursing about supporting global health policy initiatives.
2. Choose a global health issue topic that addresses one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and conduct a scholarly research:
Explore the global health issue topic. **Choose a different topic than what you have already addressed in the discussion boards and previous assignments, so you can expand your knowledge!
Conduct your scholarly research addressing the issue at a global perspective, taking into consideration policies related to the STEEPLE factors that impact the issue. **Find information on your topic and corresponding policies from professional websites and scholarly, peer-reviewed journal research articles.

3. Write up the working outline (bullet points) for development of a policy statement/guideline:

Introduction:

Describe reasoning for choosing specific topic.
C. Background
Clearly present background information on the SDG global health issue based on key findings from your research.
Include statistical data to emphasize the significance of the issue.
D. STEEPLE Analysis
