For this assignment, there are two tasks. First, review “Your Turn 8-8 Career Services” and in a summary of 250-500 words, describe how you could incorporate the basic principles of input design into the interface design for the student resume submissions. In the summary, explain to project stakeholders the use of online versus batch data input, the capture of information, and plans to minimize keystrokes. Consider the data you need to capture so you include the necessary fields that will write the data back to a database.
Your Turn 8-8 Career Services:
Pretend that you are designing the new interface for a career services system at your university that accepts student résumés and presents them in a standard format to recruiters.
For the second part of the assignment, review “Your Turn 8-9 Career Services” and use Visio, Word, PowerPoint, or Excel to construct a diagram of how the web form and form fields would look for students inputting resume information. At the bottom of the diagram, include one or two paragraphs explaining the types of validity checks that would be necessary to ensure the correct information is entered into the system.
