KEY ASSESSMENT
The Collective Efficacy Action Plan is the Key Assessment for EDLE 6327. The completed assignment will be uploaded to Course Den and TK20 for evaluation.
DIRECTIONS
A significant portion of our work as leaders is to reduce the variability between the experience of students in order to create a school that produces equitable outcomes. As a leader you will strive to create a highly reliable school in which teachers will work together to answer following the questions:
1. What do we want students to learn?
2. How will we know if they have learned it?
3. What will we do if they have not learned it and how will we provide extended learning opportunities for students who are highly proficient?
4. How will we create a school culture that supports instructional competence to ensure an effective teacher in every classroom?
5. How does school leadership support the collective efficacy process?
For this key assessment, you will create a collective efficacy plan for your school in order to improve and reduce inequity between student outcomes. The plan will incorporate the analysis you have already done in your module 1,2 & 3 assignments as well as a few additional elements.
Collective Efficacy Plan Requirements
The Plan must include evidence of the following:
• The collective engagement of teachers and appropriate staff in teams over the period of one academic year
• Engagement of the school principal in facilitating teams in planning and implementing strategies to improve student learning.
• The focus of the plan will be the elements High Reliability Schools as defined by Marzano and Professional Learning Communities as defined by DuFour, DuFour & Eaker.
o A focus on learning including clear understanding among teachers regarding what students should know and be able to do.
o A formative assessment structure that includes a shared method to measure student progress towards proficiency.
o A system of interventions for students who do not learn during initial instruction.
o A system of response when students demonstrate that they have mastered content and need deeper learning opportunities.
