In your introduction (and throughout the assignment) I’m left wondering what you’re trying to explore here. Are you focusing on morality of abortion? Access to contraception? Access to abortion? In order to remedy this, I would encourage you to come up with a succinct statement or question that you name in your introduction to focus the rest of the assignment. Then, re-read your work to make sure everything you’re writing is hooked into that statement. As I can tell, you are currently seeking to “unpack the complex and consequential areas of abortion and contraception,” but I think this is too broad of a topic, and needs to be more narrow.
As a result of the above, the ‘alternative perspectives’ section, although written really well, also lacks some specificity. If you shift the focus of this section to focus more on your position towards increasing ‘participatory research approaches’ and ‘giving a more significant platform to members of marginalized communities,’ then loop that back towards your introduction, where I would imagine your statement/research question would be something like “A comprehensive understanding of abortion and contraception care requires amplifying the voices of marginalized groups throughout history” or “What might we learn from including historically marginalized groups towards greater inclusivity surrounding abortion and contraception care?” Do you see how those statements/questions provide a ‘hook’ around which the rest of your discussion hinges?
