In this section, we continued our focus on modern politics in America. We investigated public opinion, elections, and citizen participation.
Please write an essay in which you address these issues and questions. Like assignment one, this is an open-ended assignment. That is, you can take any approach you want to answer the question: Why do Politics Matter To Me? Be sure to include evidence that you recognize and comprehend the topics and issues presented in this section. Also, demonstrate that you are starting to follow and understand things happening around you, as evidenced by connections to credible sources about current events.
To give you some structure, your essay must:
Answer the question: Why do Politics Matter to Me?
Include evidence that you understand current course content (e.g. Public Opinion, Elections, and Citizen Participation)
Demonstrate an understanding of the world around you gained by reading and citing current, credible, and sourced newspapers (articles you cite must be written in the period as Section 3: 10/27 – 11/17)
Demonstrate the interconnectedness of topics, current issues, and self
Comports itself to college-level writing including formatting, tone, grammar, and proper citations when necessary
