The use of one scholarly article from the OCC Library database is permitted on this assignment. Students may choose to write about any topic that interests them, with the only exception being a “hot button” topic; “hot button” topics may not be written about this semester and will not receive credit. If students have concerns about their topics, they must contact the instructor before choosing a topic. Writing about a topic that is not allowed will result in no credit on the paper.
The paper must be 250-350 words in length. If a paper contains too many or too few words, it will receive an automatic 10% deduction in the final letter grade. Furthermore, any writing that goes over the word count range will not be read, responded to, or graded.
