Nursing administrators are often faced with difficult decisions in hiring, promoting, and firing employees. Some of these decisions have both ethical and legal implications. The event may also cause tremendous interpersonal conflict. In each event, a nursing leader needs to carefully weigh all of the circumstances, both beneficial and potentially harmful to the organization and the individuals involved. Use the readings and content from this course to complete Learning Exercise 4.8 in the Huston (2024) text (p. 96). Read The Valuable Employee, complete all of the assignment questions, and provide supporting rationale for your actions.
