In this assignment, you will serve as an expert consultant for MPHR. Using the dataset attached (2 Tabs on the excel document), you will develop graphs, calculate descriiptive statistics, and provide your assessment of the results.
MPHR is interested in examining the distributions for salary and its relationship with tenure. A sample has been drawn from the company with information on salary (in dollars) and tenure (in years).
Using Tab 2 of the attached document, Dave is interested in the following questions:
1. Complete Table 1, create and copy/paste (screengrab) the mean salary line graph into your assignment document, and describe the results for the line graph for salary by tenure in five-year intervals.
2. Complete Table 2, create and copy/paste (screengrab) the salary frequency distribution into your assignment document, and describe the results for the frequency distribution for salary.
3. Based on results from Tables 1 & 2, how does salary at MPHR compare to the normal distribution?
4. What is mean and median salary at MPHR? What features of the distribution might have an impact on any differences between these statistics.
5. Based on this dataset, Dave finds a positive correlation between tenure and salary. Describe what this statistic tells us about the relationship between tenure and salary.
