Scenario continued:
You have shared your elevator speech using Flipgrid and other staff members have commented on it, adding their points-of-view. After discussing the issue of continuity of care and hearing the perspectives of the teachers, you meet with the center’s Advisory Board. The advisory board members find your argument convincing and agree to change the policy of the program. Further, to advocate for infants and toddlers, their families, and teachers, you decide to document what you have learned about continuity of care and how it was implemented in your child care center. The purpose of your documentation is to share what you’ve learned, and advocate for other early childhood programs to adopt continuity of care for infants and toddlers in order to promote and protect developing relationships between children and caregivers, and families and caregivers.

Directions for Step 4:
● Visual documentation (PowerPoint or Google Slides) should be 5-10 slides. Slides should be professional, visually appealing, and creative. Attention should be paid to punctuation, spelling and grammar rules.

All documentation should include:
● An introduction of yourself as the center director and as an early childhood professional. Include your name, title, name of the child care center, how long you have been in the field of early childhood education, etc. You can make up the details of the introduction to fit with the scenario.
● A summary of continuity of care and what you learned about it.
● An explanation of why you would advocate for continuity of care for infants and toddlers, including three benefits of continuity of care, one benefit for infants and toddlers, one benefit for families, and one benefit for teachers.
● Use at least one source from the annotated bibliography you created in Step 1 to support your explanation and thinking. Include the source in your documentation on a reference page or slide at the end of your article, slide deck, or verbally state the source at the end of your podcast.
