Academic Poster: Factorial Design
Your task is to create an academic research poster for an I/O psychology conference. This poster will discuss a research problem, review a factorial method, illustrate a significant spreading interaction, and provide a discussion.
Recall from Module 2 that Lee et al. (2019) found that the type of helping (proactive, reactive) led to differences in employee engagement. However, Lee et al. (2019) did not account for task criticality (low, high). What if the helping is on a critical task or a trivial task? How does that impact engagement? That is the research problem (gap).
You decide to follow-up Lee et al. (2019) for a conference presentation. You sit down and write out your factorial design. After obtaining institutional approval, you conduct the engagement study and find a significant spreading interaction. You write up your results, and receive the following email from the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP):
